* April 5 - Ian & Billy played with Matt's new band, the 'Neurotic Outsiders' at the Viper Room in Los Angeles. They Played 'Wild Flower', 'Love Removal Machine' and the Sex Pistol's 'Bodies'. This jam session sparks the re-birth of THE CULT!
* The Cult do a reunion tour('Cult Rising'), Ian says it's more that just a money thing, which is true 'cause they sign with Atlantic records and will have a new album in late 2000
* They pick up Martyn LeNoble (Porno for Pyros)on bass
* Billy's friend, Micheal Dimkitch (played with Steve Jones) is used as rhythm guitarist on the 'Cult Rising' tour.
2000
* June 6 - The Cult releases their first song in too long! 'Painted on My Heart' is featured on the "Gone in 60 Seconds" soundtrack. It was written by Grammy winner Diane Warren, who wrote Aerosmith's 'Armageddon' tune.
* Still June 6, they also re-master/re-release 'PURE CULT: The Singles 1984-95'. Which is an amalgamation of PURE CULT with 'In the Clouds', previously only available on HIGH OCTANE CULT (USA only).
* Aug.10 - The boys play at a privaye party hosted by MAXIM Magazine. No wonder I subscribed to them. The show was broadcasted over purecult.com.
*Oct.4 - Suprise, suprise, the Cult have 'creative differences' with another bassist so Martyn LeNoble is out, and Chris Wyse will be slappin' the 4-stringer.
*Nov.14 - The Cult appear on the Doors' tribute album, 'Stoned Immaculate'. They cover 'Wild Child' and Ian does 'Touch Me' with the 3 living Doors.
*Nov.17 - 'Rare Cult', a 7-CD box set of out-takes, b-sides, rarities, previously un-released stuff, the PEACE album and re-mixes released today! For those of you who don't want to buy the entire set (I don't know why not), there is a limited edition 'Best of Rare Cult' CD, which is just ONE disc covering, well, the best of the box set. Thanks.
* Cult were planning to be the opening act for The Black Crowes/Jimmy Page tour, but Jimmy's back went out so the whole thing was canceled.
2001
* (March) Vancouver-based rock band Econoline Crush came out with a new album, 'Brand New History'. Bob Rock along with Billy Duffy, Matt Sorrum and Martyn LeNoble produced the first single 'Make it Right'. Y'see, Bob was producing the Cult's album the same time as Econoline Crush's.
* (JUNE 5) The Cult's long-awaited album "Beyond Good and Evil" hits stores on this date. It seemed to take for freakin' ever to come out, but way worth the wait! It's one big amalgamation of Cult sounds: the goth from the early days, the in-your-face rock from the middle days, the funk from the later days and around 100 c.c.'s of KICK ASS! Produced by Bob Rock and OH MY GOD, DOES IT EVER ROCK!!
* OK, I don't know what happened to this Chris Wyse guy or what the Cult has against Bassists, but Chris is gone, and Billy Morrison is now the bassist. How long that will last is anyone's guess. (Chris did half of the bass on BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL, Martyn LeNoble did the rest)
* CULT TOURING with MONSTER MAGNET and STABBING WESTWARD. Stabbin's drummer gets hurt, I think his hand, so they back out. I guess they never heard of asking someone else to fill in. Jerks.
* (September) Yes, so the Cult is touring Europe when Aerosmith asks them to be their opening gig on their U.S./Canadian 3-month tour. The Cult says yes, and will re-shedule the European tour.
* Beggar's Banquet (Cult's ex-label) is still in the Cult game, releasing the first Cult DVD; PURE CULT: Anthology 1984-1995, which features all the singles, rare interviews, live performances and stuff. Thanks, Beggars!
*Oh yeah, Ian's gotta be pretty damn happy. His favourite band, The Doors, picked him to be their new singer for their reunion. Pretty damn nice of them.
*Seeing as Ian's with the Doors, Matt re-joined his G'N'R buddies (& Scott Weiland) with VELVET REVOLVER. I dunno what Billy Duffy's gonna do; probably go back wik COLOURSOUND. And as for Billy morrison.....aw who knows.
2006
* So one day, Ian and Billy are jamming Cult tunes with some buddys and they get all nastolgic and figure, "Let's fukin tour again!" And so they do! Thank God too cuz they are coming to my hometown!
