| Then II Now is Boyz
II Men's first long-form home video, and it's excellent (I've watched it so
many times that I know it word-for-word). You can hardly be considered a fan if you
don't own it (or at least, have seen it). It has all their hits from "Cooleyhighharmony"
("Motownphilly", "Uhh Ahh", "It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday", "Sympin'"
and "End of the road") as well as new ones (at the time) from "II" ("I'll make
love to you" and "Thankyou"). It even includes footage of the guys re-visiting
their old CAPA High School, and shows them singing for the students.
They talk about Wanya's goofiness (and charm), Shawn's peace, Mike's cane, Nate
being percieved as the "Bad Guy" of the group, Khalil, the early days, the Alex Vanderpool
and too many more things to mention. But, the absolute highlight of the video is when
they're just being themselves. They're sitting on the hood of a car, bagging each other
out. First it was about Nate and his tight jeans in the "it's so hard..." video, then
Mike for dancing SO out of time in the "Motownphilly" video, then Nate's
toes curling in the "Uhh Ahh" video, and finally, Wanya laughing in the "End of the road"
video.
It's a definite "must-have" for all BIIM fans. |
