OK, be prepared for this to be very long, because a lot happened!
Now, I went to the Orgy show in Atlanta, GA at The Masquerade on July 1st, 1999. The Masquerade is an extremely small venue, like a bar or a club. So you can get really close to the stage, that's just some background info about the venue. OK, we left at about 4:50 from my house to try and beat some of the traffic, it was still pretty backed up, but that's OK. Doors didn't even open until 8:00. So we got there at about 5:30 or 6:00, I'm not exactly sure because I didn't look at my watch. The way the venue was set up was like this: There are doors going into a hall like area and outside there's a sidewalk with an overhang and then a little bit of space in front of it that's open. And right next to it is a parking lot, that's where the buses are. There are no seperate doors for the bands to go in and out so any time they had to go to/come back from the buses they had to pass us to get in, so of course we stopped everyone! My mom and my step-dad kept saying that the band wouldn't be outside at all before the concert, but I had heard so many stories about people meeting them before the show that I knew I would meet them, if I just waited. So what do you know? Jay comes out of the bus like 5 minutes after we ge there! He had a ton of crap in his hands so he couldn't stop the first time he came through. :( A little while after that we heard music from inside so we put our ears up to the door to see if it was Orgy sound checking, and sure enough it was! They were playing Dissention! Then the keyboardist from Videodrone came by and he was cool, he had a cup from McDonalds with one of those Tarzan things on the straw, and he was like these things fucking rule, McDonalds is the coolest. I thought that was so cute. So he talked to us for a while and he signed my arm, which I got a picture of when I got home. By the way, I would've brought a camera but I didn't want it to get taken away, so it turns out that they weren't even checking for them! I could've gotten some really great pics of the guys before the show! So anyways, we wait there for a while and I started talking to some people and I met a girl that works for the record label, and she loves Orgy so she was showing me all her pictures she had of them from the last concert and I was getting so jealous, but anyways that's besides the point. So then Paige came out and we hardly recognized him, he is so skinny! He had on a black wife beater and was looking pretty fine if I do say so myself! We were standing right by the door he came out of and he stopped when he saw us and that's when we recognized him! We were like shit, sorry dude! So he signed my picture I had of him and I was so happy that I met him cause he is sooooooooo sweet. I can't stress that enough! You'll only understand when you meet him! Then Jay came back out and I finally got him to sign my picture! We were waiting in line to get in when Amir came out, but we couldn't catch him, so we were like damn, I wanted to meet him too. The Paige came back and I went back over to him and asked him for a hug and he was like sure! And then he gave me the biggest bear hug, he's so nice! Then Amir came back and we went over there and while we were waiting for him to sign our stuff some dude points out this other guy that is in the circle behind us and he looked exactly like Amir. Same hair, same clothes, the only thing that was different was his hair! And the dude that pointed to his goes, Amir does this freak you out? And Amir looked over at him and he stood there for a second, I guess he couldn't think of what to say, and then he was like, cool hair? He said it almost like a question, it was so funny, but you could tell he was a little freaked out about it. There was also someone there that looked EXACTLY like Jay, just a shorter version of him! OK, I'm proud if anyone got this far, onto the concert section! We finally got in at 8:00 and we ran straight to the front. I was on the barricade, which wasn't even an arms length away from the stage, right in front of Ryan, well, actually, half way between Ryan and Jay. So we waited for an hour completely smashed against the barricade, I have a bruise along my stomach from that. So Videodrone finally comes on stage and they were really good, except you really couldn't hear the vocals. And there were two really cool things that happened during that set, first Ty (the lead singer) came down and was right in front of my sister and held out his hand to her and she took it and he started singing to her! Then a little while later in between songs he came back and took my hand and started rubbing his face all over his and he kissed it and he stuck my fingers in his mouth and sucked them! It was soooo cool, my mother didn't think so. :) She wasn't up there, she was back at the bar and i told her about it after the concert. Also, Ty asked me who my favorite Orgy member was and he put the mic up to my mouth and I yelled Bobby and Paige! He was laughing, I hope they heard me! So anyways, Videodrone finished and about 30 minutes later ORGY came on stage! The crowd went insane! And people were jumping up and down and the floor was literally moving, like I wasn't jumping but I was still going up and down, explain that one! I'll post the set list at the end (I got Ryan's!)....so anyways, Ryan kept taunting us the entire time, he would come right on the edge of the stage, right so he was just out of reach. The Jay would come over and do the same thing, but I did get to shake Jay's hand. Then Paige came over and I think he recognized me from outside and I put out both my arms and I screamed Paige, I love you! And he smiled cause either he heard me or he could tell what I said! It was very cool, then Ryan spit beer all over me and got most of it in my mouth...yay...hehe. Then Paige came back to my side and motioning for him to come closer and he did! And I got to strum his bass and we all grabbed it and tried to pull him, but he's pretty strong and wouldn't let us! Damn, oh well! I have to say the highlight of my night was seeing Blue Monday live! I've heard the song so many times before, like on the radio, MTV, the CD but seeing it live just, you just have to see them. That's all I have to say about it! The entire room was moving, the band looked really excited, like they still like to play that song even though they probably have to play it all the time! It was the best concert I've ever been to, period.
