Of
all the songs you listed in this email this is the biggest no
brainer. On RTS the song is ok at best, but Adam does a much much
better job singing it on storytellers. It went from mediocarcy
to great in my books.
-Dave |
RtS
version I love the acoustic version, but the RtS version is just
awesome. I especially love the beginning!
-Jessica
Roop |
love
the rts version, but give me storytellers.
-Keith Bliska |
The
emotion of the acoustic version from storytellers is unsurpassed
by anything I've ever heard.
-Gib |
This
was a real tough one to decide. While I think that the Storytellers
version is really beautiful and more soul exposing, I’m a sucker
for those organ sounds that Charlie Gillingham plays in the
intro and throughout the song…reminds me of Strawberry Fields
Forever. So based simply on that, I would have to go with the
original version.

Both...
can't decide They both make the song so much different. The RtS
version is so bitter, but the acoustic is more of a "beauty" thing.
It really depends on what you want to listen to

album
version, no question. made to be played as loud as possible. though,
I love the reworking of this. shows their range a bit..
-Keith Bliska |
Jesicca
said it best, the original one is very powerful, but the Storytellers
is simply beautiful, another tough one, but I’ll go with the
later.

This
one is *really* hard to decide. I love the RtS version, but I
just love the demo lyrics. They bring a whole new aspect into
the song and I just love the way it sounds.

album
-Keith Bliska |
I
don’t know, maybe it’s because I’m so used to the original version,
but the alternate lyrics sound a bit goofy and aloof to me,
so I’d stick with the album version.

I
think the Hey look at the moon is definitely the greatest little
part added nto any CC song.
-Adam Beck |
RtS
version No reason why, really... I just like the RtS version better.

my
initial favorite. I love the Utrecht, Holland version with the
echo guitar to accompany Matt's solo. album has the better voice,
but I’ll take the Utrecht Holland.
-Keith Bliska |

I
prefer the older versions of this song, before it was officially
done for RTS, to me, the studio version is too guitar heavy
and just too distorted. The guitar solo in the end reminds me
too much of Pearl Jam. The older version (w/o Vickery I think)
were much sleeker and showed so much more character.

THE
OLD VERSION!!!!!!! This is one I wish they wouldn't have changed.
I LOVE the "you know it's the conversations..." part. Sort of
like the Rain King "all the doctors.." part; it encompasses the
song and makes it make more sense. Plus, I love the way Adam strains
his voice when singing the "conversations.." line. It sounds much
more emotionally driven.
-Jessica
Roop |
I
liked the acoustic version a lot better! It's too upbeat on RTS
-Dave |
see,
I love the album version. but I love the acoustic version better.
very powerful when its stripped..
-Keith Bliska |
Storytellers…I
don’t think I have to explain this one.

my
fav off of the album... I’ll take the album version, but I do
love the solo version. no, I’ll take the solo version. good ol'Adam
and the piano.
-Keith Bliska |
Demo,
that's all I have to say.
-Dave |
The
demo version of this song is more powerful in my opinion, while
the studio version is well done, and the band comes together
perfectly, the demo seems to bring the message of fear and loneliness
more accurately and effectively.

Another
Horsedreamer's Blues
|
this
is an underrated song. I love it, seems no one talks about this
one. some songs just are not made for live shows, this is one
of them. album.
-Keith Bliska |

The Hollywood
Grand version of this song seems so much better then the syudio
version, don’t kow exactly why, but it just does.

a
sleeper, most cc fans tend to dislike this one the most. i happend
to dig it, and i'll go with the dublin version, it's about time
adam put a little improv to it. great performance there. storytellers
is a close second.

I’m
a little sick of this one. the album is the obvious choice. glad
it became a hit, but I’m not ecstatic over this one. simple, catchy
and good lyrics. like the solo, I’ll take the band...
-Keith Bliska |
Again,
both. The album version makes it sound so much more like "we're
all in this together," but the solo makes it sound like, "we're
all alone... but we can do it."
-Jessica
Roop |
I
really fell in love with the solo version of this song instantly,
although the original one is great, the solo one is simply more
superior in my opinion.

album,
but why is this song so short!! it deserves an incomplete in my
book. see, it's over already...
-Keith Bliska |
|
For
some reason, I haven’t heard a live version of this that I liked.
It seems that since it is probably almost used as the LAST song
of each show, it seems to be done as a matter of habit, and
lacks the emotion that’s present in the album. It's like they're
thinking "okay, time to finish the show, let's do the closing
number...". Maybe if it was used to segway into a loud rocking
song like "Angels".
