GREEK MYTHOLOGY

Pan was the god of woods and pastures in Greek Mythology.
He was also the protector of shepherds and their flocks.

Pan was half, man half goat. The ancient Greeks believed
he had a wild, unpredictable nature. They also thought
he had the power to fill human beings and animals with
sudden, unreasoning terror. The word "panic" comes from
his name.

Pan had many love affairs with Nymph and other Divinities.
He tried to start an affair with the nymph named Syrinx
(who was having an affair with the most powerful god, Zeus),
but she ran from him in terror and begged the gods to help her.
The gods answered her plea by changing Syrinx into a bed
of reeds, from which Pan made a musical instrument called a
"pan-pipe". He became famous for the beautiful music he
played on the instrument.

We originally were looking for a name for the band. Our influences were Iron Maiden, Rush, Great White, SRV, Metallica, and a lot of other Hard Rock and Blues Bands. One day we sat down to pick out some songs to try and learn. When all of the sudden we heard the perfect name. Rush sang these lyrics and we were forever changed, "We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx." So that is where we got our name.
