"The Last Card"
By: Jason Conner

We are all delt a hand Given one card at a time Some high cards, some low Luck of the draw The lights are dim Around this table we sit The outcome is unknown But still we choose to play the game The anty is my heart I place my bet You raise the stakes I want to see your hand What started as friends Has raised in measure And now there's no going back But still we choose to play the game Ace, King, Queen, & a Jack... What will your next card be? Is this a bluff or chance? I watch as the cards fall... Waiting, Watching, Hoping... The light grows dim Around this table I sit The 4 of Clubs is shown I no longer choose to play the game.
