"The Portal Of Dreams"
By: Jason Conner
(C) 06/13/98.

Through the portal she walks,
Into another place.
Each night she disappears,
Till morning's light shines on her face.

Another world awaits her there,
This one she leaves behind.
Watching as it begins to close,
Wondering what she'll find.

The sound of silence follows,
As the gate seals the cries,
A single knight left alone,
Guarding where the Eagle flies.

Time seems to stand still.
The hours drift slowly by.
The only sound that is heard
Is that of an Eagle's cry.

Sometimes the fear of isolation
Begins to forge it's blade,
Deep in the heart and mind
And the soul of the one who obeyed.

A battle ensues between the protector
And the monstrosity of fear,
The only protection the Knight has
Is wishing she where here.

The battle rages all night,
Until the light of dawn.
Then the portal reopens,
And into her arms the Knight is drawn.
