"The Teddy Bear"

.

Tonight, I was almost in a wreck.
Tonight, I thought I'd die.
Tonight, I need someone to hold me.
Tonight, I need somewhere to cry.

The roar of the engines,
The screech of the tires,
The loud scream of the sirens,
Right then, my soul was on fire.

Yet through all the pain
And the few people who care,
There's one peaceful soul I can turn to,
It is, and always will be, the Teddy Bear.

When the slightest noise
Brings back that horrible scene,
And the smallest touch
Makes me want to scream.
When being held all night long
Brings my heartbeat down,
And your warn touch
Makes me stay around.

When all I need is the touch
Of your skin so fair,
Then I reach out to you
And you don't seem to care.
When I turn to see you
And you're not there,
There's only one place left
At times, it has to be, the Teddy Bear.

And through all the pain
With the few people who care,
There's another peaceful soul I can turn to,
It is, and always will be, the Teddy Bear.
