Ilya and Luba first met at Cleveland Heights High School in 1993. Yet it was not until February 10, 1999 that they began dating. While being full-time students at Case Western Reserve University, and taking mostly the same classes, Ilya and Luba had their best year ever. They traveled to Canada, New York, Detroit, Columbus and Chicago, attended weddings and had fun at amusement parks. On top of that, both performed great academically. Both Ilya and Luba appreciated their quality time together and knew that they were meant for each other.
THE PROPOSAL
| Ilya proposed to Luba on February 10, 2000. Exactly one year since their successful relationship has began! Hosting this historical event was the Ritz-Carlton Riverview Restaurant located in the heart of downtown Cleveland. While exchanging some very special gifts celebrating their anniversary, Ilya presented Luba with a greeting card. Inside the card Luba found a proposal note asking for her to marry Ilya! Surpirized and speechless, Luba couldn't stop smiling at Ilya and then.....Luba said "YES!!!" Ilya then carefully placed an engagement ring on her finger. They blew out the candles, drank shampagne and were very very happy! |
