30 JANUARY, 1969, APPLE ROOFTOP, SAVILE ROW, LONDON
Many regard this as the Beatles’ last public performance. It was, in fact, the dying gasp of both Paul’s plans for a Fab Four comeback tour and for the group itself. The music grounds to a halt after nine songs as policemen, responding to complaints from local businesses, pulled the plug.
