A limousine and piano belonging to John Lennon failed to attract enough interest at an auction of pop memorabilia in London late yesterday.
The 1970 Mercedes Benz 600 Pullman reached $548,500 but was $28,900 short of its reserve price.
The Steinway piano, which sat in Lennon's New York home reached $2.17 million. The reserve was $2.89 million.
The limousine was specially built for Lennon in 1970 and had a record player installed.
He owned it for three years then sold it to fellow Beatle George Harrison. In 1975, it was sold to Mary Wilson of the Supremes.
