HELTER SKELTER (Lennon-McCartney) 1968 For some time, Paul had wanted to produce something raucous and loud. When he read a review of an apparently similar sounding new single by the Who, he was disappointed. When he heard the song, most likely "I Can See For Miles", it was nothing like the one he had in mind, so the Beatles went ahead with "Helter Skelter", the closest they ever got to heavy rock. Charles Manson found the track particularly inspiring. As John said of the whole nasty business, "...I don't know what 'Helter Skelter''s got to do with knifing somebody. I never listened to the words properly. It was just a noise." When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride 'Til I get to the bottom and I see you again yeah yeah yeah Do you don't do you want me to love you I'm coming down fast but I'm miles above (Ah) Tell me, tell me, tell me come on tell me the answer (Ah) Well you may be a lover but you ain't no dancer (Da da da da da da da) Helter skelter, helter skelter Helter skelter yeah wooh Will you won't you want me to make you (ah) I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you Tell me, tell me, tell me come on tell me the answer (Ah) You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer look out (Da da da da da da da) Helter skelter, helter skelter Helter skelter ooh Look out 'cause her she come (Ah) When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide And I stop and I turn and I go for a ride And I get to the bottom and I see you again yeah yeah yeah (Yeah) Well do you want me to make you I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you Tell me, tell me, tell me your answer (Ah) You may be a lover but you ain't no dancer (Da da da da da da da) Look out helter skelter, helter skelter Helter skelter Look out helter skelter she coming down fast, yes she is, yes she is Coming down fast, helter skelter wooh I got blisters on my fingers
