Belfast ~ Kings hall ~ Ireland.
MAR 18th 1999
The show started the same as Aberdeen with the illusion of a thunder storm & something going wrong technically ... Then Meat came on & began singing the excellent:
Home By Now / No Matter What
Followed by: Life Is A Lemon ~ with the most of the band playng drums in the intro~ I love this bit so much..... As usual they ALL played excellently ! ! ! !
Then they went into the: DeadRinger routine ~ with Meat, Ray & kas walking over to the girls etc...... The last pic of this is laura's
This is followed by: I'd Lie For You (and that's the Truth) ~ The last pic of this is laura's
Then: Anything For Love
Followed by an excellent version of : Lawyers, Guns and Money ~ The second & last pic of these are laura's.......
Rock and Roll Dreams is next with some great parts from Ray.....
Then comes the great version of : Is Nothing Sacred ~ with Patti looking & sounding great.. These are Laura's pix...
Paradise By the Dashboard Light is next, performed as wonderfully as all the other nights on the tour...
After this the band come to the front of the stage to take a bow They then all leave the stage (to a round of applause) With Meat saying "Thank you all very very much etc... & remember don't you ever stop rockin" Meat stays on stage ready for the accoustic set.... the last two pix of this are laura's.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then the stage is cleared & stools are put in a semi circle as in Aberdeen...... Meat sits down & calls for Charlie to bring on his guitar as in the show before ~ Meat then talks about singing in a folk band in the 60's ~ & that he aint gonna fucking do that tonight......... Meat then introduces each member of the band individually as they come onto the stage to a huge round of applause. .
Then they go into the accoustic version of: Midnight at the lost & found ~ which by now is really beginning to grow on me..... Another great pic from Laura....
Honky Tonk Woman is next with Kasim singing the first part solo..... This was one of the best bits for me as I'd been dying to see Kas sing solo for sooooo long..... Patti also sings some verses solo ....
Next is Two Outta Three Aint Bad ~ with Patti singing as great as always......
Meat asks what song they crowd want, they all shout for different songs. Finally he said he would play: For Crying Out Loud which he said he hadn't played live since 1979. They played it really slowly with only a piano accompaniment from Tom . Near the end, Damon and others came in with slow guitars.
There was a group of people behind us & one of these guys called out "I love your daughter"..... Meat heard him & asked him if he had any fucking money? The guy then jumped over the barrier ~ the bouncers went to stop him but Meat said it was ok.... He got up on the stage & gave Pearl a hug
Meat pulled him off her & sat him in front of the piano next to himself & Kasim... For the rest of the accoustic set....
Then Meat said that pearl is gonna sing for us now .... She sang a great version of : Mercedes Benz ~ the band all looked really proud of her (rightly so too) Even John was singing along with her.....
After this they started to sing: You Took The Words Right Outta My Mouth
The guy on the stage got to lead the audience in the ending part of the song...
Followed by a hug from Meat, While the drums & paino were moving back to there original positions.....
Once the stage was beck in its original state ~ the band came on & went into a great version of: Bat Out of Hell
Last t wo pix above are Lors....
Part of the way through "Bob The Bat" appeared behind John ~ looking as good as the night before ~ with his eyes glowing ! ! !
