Suspect Establishment is a five-member organization of producers & writers born from the original duo The # 1 Suspects, whose founding members were Gordon Montgomery, stage name "Mr.G The Conductor" and Craige Hoskins, stage name "C-Nile" (Creatively Narrating Intence Living Experiences). The #1 Suspects quickly gained notoriety, flooding the streets of Detroit with underground Hip-Hop. As the name of The #1 Suspects grew, so did the number of artists produced by the duo.
The strongest members of the Suspect entourage united for the common cause of pursuing the music they love as a career and opening the doors of the music industry, which have long been looked to the Detroit talent base since the departure of Motown Records.
With the the addition of three new members: Kimberly Adams, stage name "Slim Da' Lyricist", Dermaine Williams, stage name "Fury" (For Urban Revelation You Know What I Mean); and James Smith, stage name "Jah" (Just Another Human), the cipher was completed. Shortly after, in 1993, Suspect Establishment became a musical family unique unto itself, unable to be defined by stereotypical labels. Their music is as diverse, as life, touching on spiritual, social, political, economical and racial issues, delivered as education.
Veterans of the Detroit music scene, Suspect Establishment has performed at the C-Note Lounge, Ebony Showcase Lounge,The Fine Arts Theater, All Jokes Aside, Snooks Lounge, the State Fair Grounds, Coffee and Cream, on the talk show African-Americans, Yesterdays and the Martyrs of Uganda Church in support of the New Marcus Garvey Movement.
Out of the vision of entrepreneurship and creative expression, Estab Records and Chemistry Productions were charted by Suspect Establishment, with Gordon Montgomery and Dermaine Williams as Co-Chief Executive Officers. Estab Records prides itself on being an independent operation involved in all aspects of the music business from writing, performing and recording to manufacturing, promotion and distribution. Their first project "Play The Game" was heard regularly on Detroit radio stations. Their second project " F.E.D.S." is due to be released the summer of 2000 with the first released single & video "Dollar Bill". |
