born June 8th, 1947, London

Although she did not emerge as a major artist during the years covered here, Driscoll was a familiar figure in the clubs of London during that time. As a youngster, she oversaw the Yardbirds' fan club, and it was under the encouragement of their manager and producer, Giorgio Gomelsky, that she began her own career.

From 1965-6 she sang with Steampacket (along with Long John Baldry and Rod Stewart) and as a solo artist releasing occasional singles without success.

It was after she joined another former Steampacket stalwart, Brian Auger, in his new band The Brian Auger Trinity in '67 that she became "The Face", briefly the most fashionable and emulated figure on the pop scene.
