Transit Tribute

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java.

This page is part tribute to the band Transit, part tribute to one of the men behind the band, Rob Sullivan.

I first met Rob and his wife Rita about a year ago, they picked us as a random chat on ICQ.  Although I haven't met them in person yet, I intend to do so one of these days.

It seems to have been fated to meet these people at a time when my own life was going very bad. Over the course of time in talking with these people my personal problems are a mere trifle compared to the difficulties they have overcome.

Rob's personal story is one that should be made into a book or a movie.  It is not for me to tell you on this page what he has gone through.  It is his story and can only be told by him.  Some of the bands history is on their web site, and it is one hell of a story in itself.

Which leads me to the band.  I must first admit that I had never heard of Transit before meeting Rob and Rita, but do I ever wish I had heard of them when I was younger!

Rob mailed me a CD that he and band member John Wuench produced in 1997/1998, and I was instantly hooked.  In a time when music has been reduced to electronically reproduced pudding both musically and lyrically, it is refreshing to hear a band that still sings and plays from the heart.

If you ever get a chance to listen to this album, listen to the words.  Most of it is Rob's work, and you can tell that a lot of his life is in the songs.  I haven't been touched by music like this for a long time, and I have Rob to thank for that.  This is music that will always stand the test of time.

Rob, if you read this, this page is for you.  You and your family have made a difference in my life and I look forward to meeting you one day.  Keep on.
