The V. I. P.'s were an agency band. We were a stable of about 50 musicians who were booked in groups of 2 to 8 on a moments notice, to play any kind of music, in any kind of dress, with one of us designated as leader depending on who the agency called first. We played the Arizona Biltmore Hotel, The Polo Lounge at The Arizona Manor Hotel and the Safari and Sunburst Hotels in Scottsdale often. It was an interesting experience, and one that kept my "chops" razor sharp! I always played bass with the V. I. P.'s and was a featured vocalist. The photos above are of keyboardist Ken Wain (who for a VERY brief period was considered as a fourth member of TRACE and a songwriting partner of mine), drummer Bob Weller, and me. I worked with this band near the end of TRACE and through most of Eclypse.
