how to pick an Amy song- the biggest give away is Amy has the deeper voice. Her songs are often (but not always) the faster ones (she has a thing for "bar room brawl: songs).  Supporting causes like human rights and the environment; Amy sings about her convictions, especially the political strugarless in South and Central America. Some powerful and passionate performances could be considered unconventional/experimental in style eg "Chickman" and "Touch Me Fall".

Amy has 2 tattoos
- on her chest - a Celtic knot
- on her forearm the Sioux Indian symbol for love inside a hand - pictured
"This is spiritual, and it's blue for charity; this is compassion; this is intellectual grounding; this is the love of the earth; this is the center of the soul..."

"From baby to best with no second test little storms destroy you. Here is the fame they promised to give you, taking place in my hand now. Did you try to be true? What separates me from you?"   - Tried to be True  from Indigo Girls' Debut Album

Emily Ann Sailers  Born 22nd July 1963 instruments - acoustic, classical, electric,  12-string and slide guitars, banjo, dobro, hurdy gurdy, dulcimer, bass guitar, bouzouki, piano, keyboards, harmonium (are you impressed yet?)
influences- Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Jane Siberry and Ferron, Virginia Woolf, William Faulkner
tertiary studies - English major at Tulane University, Emory University

how to pick an Emily song- obviously Emily sings the sweeter lighter, higher songs.  They are often about romance or spirituality and full of intense literary images.

"I could go crazy on a night like tonight Summer's beginning to give up her fight. Every thought's a possibility And the voices are heard but nothing is seen. Why do you send this time with  me Maybe an equal mystery"               - Mystery from Swamp Ophelia
