This is me absieling down the side of the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow. You might be thinking that I'm stupid for doing this but it was for a good cause. I was raising money for the Princess Royal's Trust for Carers. The charity helps the millions of people in the UK who look after those who cannot look after themselves be it partners, children, parents, friends. The hotel, at 22 stories, is the tallest in Scotland, the sight from the top was amazing as you can see and I had a wonderful time doing it.
This is me with my little cousin, Caitlin. She has just turned 4 and is a very cheeky little girl, but aren't they all at that age. She is very cute and has said some of the funniest things I've ever heard a kid that young say.
Well, what can I say. This was actually taken in 1997. I listen to a lot of Goth music as well as being a fan of Terrorvision and such bands. The lighting was a bit weird, Im sure I wasn't just as white as that! or maybe I was! I was on my way to the Rat Trap, what was the best rock club in Glasgow. It has since shut down and we are so spoilt for choice now! NOT!
This was taken on my last day
of school. Our year group had gotten together and had a sort of leaving
do at lunch time that day. Cakes
and sweets and party poppers. It was a good day. Lots of smiles and the odd less cheerful goodbyes. It's a day I don't think I'll forget, for a while anyway. |

Well, these two lovely girls are Nicola (blowing out the candles on her 17th birthday) and Vikki. Nicola has been my best friend for 9/10 years now. We met at primary school - St Paul's in Whitehill, Hamilton - I am 2 years older than her but because we both ate packed lunches rather than school meals we had to sit at the same table. Shortly after we met she and her family moved into the same street as my family and we have been best friends since then. She and Vikki are cousin's and although she and I really didn't like each other when we met, our mutual interest in The X-Files made us better friends.
Another of those last memories from school - The 6th year Prom. In fact the only prom! I made a lot of friends at school - Holy Cross High in Hamilton - and these are just a few of them as we celebrated the end of school at the Avonbridge Hotel in Hamilton. From left to right there is myself, Lisa Smith -the one who got me started as a Terrorvision fan, cheers Lisa!, Stephen McKeown - who was a very good friend at school and who has also ended up at the University of Glasgow even though I still don't see him that often, Fiona Davidson - I haven't really seen her since the end of school but still hear about her from others, I think she looks like a film star here!, and then Katrina McKinnon - She and I suffered standard grade and higher Accounting and Finance together, but she went off to Dundee rather than staying here, we still talk over the net and have tried to keep in touch though it's hard with the work loads. Those were great days.......
Well, this stunning couple above are in fact my parents. (Love the clashing shirts guys!) This was taken at my dad's 50th birthday party last December by my good self. They have raised me for almost 19 years and I'd say they've done a good job of it! Thank you mummy and daddy! | As for this pair......well, this is Stephen my little brother, and Pauline, my little sister....I think she got a fright when I took this, Stephen saw me come into the room so smiled! This is what he does best - play computer games - or so he tells me, I'm not too sure about that. Pauline is an excellent cook and thinks she'll make a career out of it. Good luck kids. |
