STONEKRACKER
BIOGRAPHY

StoneKracker is
Dana "Red" Cooper - Vocals Rob Rosson - Guitar Eric Cooper - Bass Gene Keely - Drums

The Female-Fronted, Alternative Metal band StoneKracker formed in 1998 when Dana "Red" Cooper and Eric Cooper were after more than their previous bands could offer musically. With the additions of Rob Rosson and Gene Keely their musical influences were diverse ranging from Madonna to Rage Against The Machine to Black Sabbath to N.W.A. However, this seemingly impossible marriage of musical backgrounds seemed to take shape. They soon managed come up with a unique sound that has caught on in their hometown of Austin, TX, and earns them a place in the best metal/industrial band category in The Austin Chronicle's Music Poll year after year. With three CD’s under their belt, the band has been featured on local radio stations, topped the charts on international internet sites (with their song "Scream" holding the #2 position for three weeks in Rapcore worldwide on MP3.com), landed a spot in both the 2001, 2002, and 2003 SXSW festival, and obtained a showcase at the San Antonio dates of the 2001 and 2002 VANS WARPED TOUR. This band feels nothing can hold them back...and nothing does!

PRESS REVIEWS

"This Texan band's metal attack shifts from hard-driving Classic Rock to Funk-infused metal to hip-hop rhythms under crushing riffs. Female vocals lead this party music with a tough sneer." -E. Lurker - Listen.com

"Industrial Metal Whiz Kids" -Texas Music Online

"Dana 'Red' Cooper's vocals...sent chills down my spine...A valiant attempt from this theatrical whose music sounds are made to be experienced live." -Kerry McGovern - joerecords.com

"There's a lot going on in here worthy of praise...StoneKracker may be a producer away from sharing stages with the big boys if they keep the course they're on." - MikeSOS, www.316productions.com

“I've been following StoneKracker for about 2 years, and [Insane For Humane 2001] was BY FAR their best show... if you missed it, well, you just *missed* it.” - Alison Garton, austinlive.com

“Through this whole CD, there's nothing but track after track after track of hard-core, in-your-face, kick ass metal.” - Alison Garton, austinlive.com

“I gotta tell you that is the best sh*t I have heard in a long time. Every track is awesome. I have put up the entire CD to my webcast, and also will be giving air time on the local station that I DJ on.” - Beth Jobe, Alaska’s Tundra Trash Radio, live365.com/stations/northernlightz

“…When Dana Cooper's vocal comes in she brings a tone that isn't too standard or typical for this genre...sounds kind of fresh. Dana's voice is aggressive and definitely has a quality to it that shows confidence, strength and developing style. Rage Against the Machine sounds like an influence because the similar in pitch of the lead vocals. The band plays with a sure hand and back ups the track with the necessary power.” - Joe Balistreri, loudenergy.com

“Really like the way ["Hands Up"] just kicks in at the beginning--hooky, good rhthymic cadence to guitar and vocal--The sound of the band intrigues me--the live performance is crucial in this genre, but based on what I heard, I would be interested in checking the band out live." - Denny Lake, loudenergy.com
