The group started when Chris made the initial call to Justin. Justin immediately joined up with him and then called JC. So the three of them got together and went out to a club and bumped into Joey. Joey and Chris knew each other from working at Universal Studios so they talked and Joey joined the group. The four of them knew they were going to need a fifth member because none of them could sing bass. So Justin got in touch with his old vocal coach and he recommended Lance. So Lance flew down to Orlando, met the guys, and they all liked him. In turn they formed the group *N Sync.
