It was my very first DMB concert ever. The concert rocked. I almost died when Dave played my favorite song Trippin' Billies. The other song that I especially enjoyed was Ants Marching. The concert was all good.
It was the greatest concert ever!! All the people in the lawn section lawn section had just one huge party and did what ever they wanted to do.
Incredible. This is the first time to see Dave perform well in front of of a large crowd. His best performances up till this point have been in with small crowds under 500. Pre 1995. I was very impressed with the variety of songs although they did leave out Satelite. Great Show anyway. Average age at show was 16.5 so the beer lines were small. Another good point I though I would point out.
This was my 3rd David show of the summer and by far, the best. The band had a vibe this night that they have not shown in some time. The show the night before at Milwaukee felt like they were trying to just get through the setlist. But on Friday, they found their groove and hung on all night. They played off the crowd all night, from the first note of Seek Up to the last of Ants Marching. Dave has family here in Chicago so I think he turns it up a notch. Super effort by all 5 boys.
Great Show, one of the best I've seen in the last two years I though it was great
It was my first DMB concert, but it was by far the best
concert I've ever been to. It started off pretty
mellow with Seek Up and I was getting ancy because I
wanted to hear the band jam. I think they purposely
took a while to build up tension before they jammed.
It was incredible!! It was amazing to hear all of the
variations of songs or their lyrics, like with Minarets.
They also played a two song encore with a song I'd never
heard of before. It was cool though when Dave started
singing what sounded like "This Land is your land, this
land is my land..." during the new song. Ants Marching
was the final song and it rocked! Boyd went crazy
during his solo and left everyone thirsting for more.
If anyone knows when DMB is coming back to the Chicago
area or to the University of Illinois, please let me
know. Thanks for an unbelievable concert DAVE!
