MY THOUGHTS
ON
T&T
Imagine living in a country rich in natural resources such as beautiful seas filled with fisheries, forests abundant with lumber, hills with water sheds, land with vast amounts of agricultural land  and let's not forget crude oil, over which nations wage war to lay claim to.

Trinidad and Tobago is a country which in my opinion can stand on its own, this however most likely will remain an opinion rather than fact. Being a former colony of the British among other factors has inbreded  in Trinbagonians a nature of dependency denying the ability to think for one's ownself and to work together to achieve what they aspire to.

Now I work in the capital city of Port of Spain and everymorning, afternoon and evening I will walk to and from work . This walk is sometimes as much as 10 minutes (because of the problems there are with parking) to get to my car, thanks to my god given ability to walk and the desire to save a few bucks that I'd rather not pay to park in a lot., (Sue me if I'm a cheap bastard). During this walk I will take a look around my capital and I honestly feel disgusted and ashamed that such a country's capital is filthy with garbage on the sidewalk, there are the  homeless who resort to sleeping on the streets, children (who should be in school) who come asking for spare change, even if there is a side walk it sometimes is not conducive to walking on leaving one to resort to walking in the road. Such poor infrastructure is not becoming of such a blessed country, however these sights are more or less eased up by the presence of the newly constructed Nicholas Towers and the National Library.

Now the price of oil (T&T's major export and income earner, thus being the backbone of the economy)is the highest it has been in recent years, priced at about US$41.00, correct me if this figure is wrong. Now this is fabulous for the country, however where is all the money that is being earned? Yes it's true that oil only recently reached this price, however oil has been steadily climbing for several years now! Where is this money going? Can't all be going to the new University as BP has pledged US$10 Mil to it's development, which in my opinion is for good PR so they can keep plundering our non-renewable resources.
