The damp grass was cold against my bare feet as I ran swiftly across the dark ground. The moon was bright and full and a delicate mist hovered above the ground; the only sound was my hoarse breathing as I ran. A medium sized Victorian house came into view as I stopped to catch my breath. It was his house. Sweat beads trickled down my jawbone in the muggy summer air, as I slowly walked across the fresh cut grass savoring the sweet swishing sounds it made from my feet. I approached an open window and slowly stood on my tiptoes, now wrinkled from the cool dew, peering over the window frame curiously. The familiar smell filled every corner of my soul, as I listened to the soft music playing within the darkened room. Suddenly my eyes laid upon the solemn body that lay sleeping soundly in a jumbled of covers just below the window frame. His angelic body looked so fragile and unreal that I thought he was merely alive, as I watched his naked chest rise slightly upon every breath and then fall in a synchronized rhythm. Up until this moment I had recognized this beautiful person as with strictly platonic relationship, but now as I watched him sleep, that word help no significance within my mesmerized mind. Unaware with how much time I had spent watching him sleep so peacefully, and I almost forgot the reason why I had come in the first plae. I extended my frail arm and touched his bare shoulder whispering his name softly, “Tay…” he shifted positions, “Taylor wake up…” I said a little louder; my voice raspy from the running. He slowly opened his endless baby blue eyes and blinked. He rubbed his eyes and then laid them upon me. A confused and baffled look swept over his face and he parted his lips, whispering my name.
“What are you doing here?” He whispered, uncovering himself and uneasily pulled his built body out of bed. A slight smile threatened my desiring lips as he stretched, allowing his chest and back muscles to bulge. He wore only a pain of flannel pajama pants and I could feel my cheeks flush as he approached me at the window. Oh God how adorable he looked when he is confused…. I deducted to myself as he tilted his beautiful head sideways as if trying to find an unspoken answer in my eyes.
“Babe, do you know what time it is, or do I even want to know?” He asked sweetly, his words having an entire new meaning to me now. I glanced up at the full moon briefly; wondering if its eerieness had a part in what was coming over me this specific night. Why was I feeling like this?
“It is exactly 2:49 AM,” I replied glancing back at my wristwatch, lifting my eyes to his again.
“Are you crazy?” He laughed scratching his arm,
“I must be.” I said openendedly and almost flirtatiously. He lad the longest lashes which rimmed the edges of his eyes which, when he looked directly into mine, sent an intangible feeling that words could hardly depict through my body.
“I need to talk to you.” I said,
“Well, for obvious reasons I guess this cannot wait until morning, so please do come in.” He replied. I didn’t say anything back, but lifted myself onto the wooden window sill, stopping to decide how in all possibility I was going to make it down into his room over a list of obstacles that I’d surely kill myself with. Almost reading my mind he extended his hands and reached for me. I happened so fast I could hardly comprehend the fact as he placed his muscular hands on my waist, assisting me down gently, but with the assistance I still found a way to stumble over the bed post and land quite conveniently in his arms, my face inches from his crimson lips. This moment, though amazing, was only ephemeral as he pulled away, laughing at my clumsiness.
“I see you came right from your bed too.” I wasn’t sure what he was referring to until I realized that the only clothing that I was wearing was a skimpy tank top and plaid pajama pants that barely left anything up to the imagination. If I wasn’t standing in front of my bestfriend right then, I would’ve felt self-conscious, yet strangely I felt a gradual burning of embarrassment tinge my cheeks. I ignored this as much as possible, plopping down onto his bed, he followed sitting down next to me.
“I had that dream…again.” I sighed heavily as tears threatened in my eyes. His goofy grin melted away and a serious looked replaced it,
“The same one?” He asked and I nodded watching his expression, as he placed his gorgeous face in his hands, sighing loudly, “Again?” He asked bringing his eyes to mine again. I felt my body grow warm and tingly when we locked gazes; all I could do was nod.
“Jesus….” He said exasperated hiding his face in his hands once again. I slowly leaned over and touched his bare shoulder yet my touch only startled him and he whipped his head up from his hands and collided with my forehead. I winced in pain as a giggle lightening the melancholy and gloom that permeated the room. How smooth, I thought as the throbbing my forehead subsided.
“Sorry.” I mumbled holding back laughter, as he looked up at me and smiled. A red welt had begun to form on his forehead and subconsciously I raised my hand and ran my fingers over it, repeating myself once again,
“I am so sorry.” Without realizing it, I began to run my fingers through his sandy wild hair, not noticing his eyes studying me as I played with his gorgeous locks. He rose his hand and placed it over mine, grasping it within his.
“Please,” he whispered, “It’s not your fault.” He replied and I felt electricity flowing through our connected hands, as I felt the breath within my lungs grow scarce. I watched his face trying to tell what he was thinking and feeling when he lowered my hand form his hair and brought it slowly to his lips. It was unreal. He pressed his lips against my palm, kissing it softly. In a frantic state of confusion and mixed feelings, I tried to figure out what I was suppose to do in reaction to this romantic gesture. My thoughts were interrupted as he brought his hand to my face, placing it behind my neck, pulling me toward him. My mind was blank with the dreamy atmosphere as the milky moonlight streamed in through the window, as crickets chirped in a harmonious medley outside in the warm summer air. His face grew closer and I was overcome with a state of peace and solitude, as the distance between our lips diminished. I shut my eyes as he did and our lips touched, instantly sending a current of electricity throughout our two connected bodies. His lips were soft against mine and he slowly caressed my cheek. The kiss deepened, burying all the previous worries, as we fell into a state of ecstasy. I wrapped my arms around his body, lifting my hands to his neck, drawing him closer and closer until no space existed between our heated bodies; it was as if we had become one.
