This conclusion would be about my idolisation of PJA so bear with me.Thank you for visiting my site.I hope you have enjoyed doing so.
Keep lovin' Peter.Keep music alive.
--my 1st PJA pic(Natural Album cover) seen in a magazine --thought nothing of it,rather found PJA weird-looking --not much impression of him & never heard his
songs
--bought the MAX3 cd compilation for fun --heard 'Mysterious Girl' for the 1st time,& liked the song:refreshing experience --kept thinking of the song:sensual lyrics, reggae music, unusual voice of PJA --it's different from other pop songs, esp in this boyband-infested world
--i liked his music only at 1st --decided to find out more about PJA from the net --saw PJA pics & info:he's soo handsome! --from then on,i fell in love with his everything..my 1st idol & dream lover
--began to buy his albums & singles from local shops --PJA's not popular here so i only got a few of his UK singles --my aim:to collect all PJA cds (which is impossible),esp since i only started in 1998 --not all his singles are sold here & it's hard to buy the Aust versions
--began collecting his pics/posters from the net & mags --'wasted' quite alot of $ on it --it's hard to find them esp when i started out so late --it'll be different if i'd began in 1996 when PJA's career's at its peak --i've stopped buying mags/posters now to save $ --i don't purposely look for them now cos i've outgrown that frenzied stage
--traded with Claire,an Australian fan for more than 10 years --exchanged a Code Red 'Scarlet' album with her for PJA photos & 2 Aust'93 singles --2 2nd-hand singles:'Funky Junky' & 'Gimme Little Sign' --worthwhile spending S$25 for these rare stuff;got pin-ups for free --my US net buddies Rick & Jamie helped me to get 3 other 2nd hand singles --2 of them are rare promos,by trading with someone using Frank Sinatra music --he helped me buy the PJA book & a giant poster online --my heartfelt thanks to him though i took sometime to pay him back the $ --email Rick to trade for elvis cds
--found out PJA's coming to Singapore for a performance, along with other stars --pleaded with my friend to give me extra tixs --spent 1 hour looking for a good seat, but i couldn't see his face clearly --cos a large distance had to be kept between the stars & the audience --but i was next to the giant screen:a 'close-up experience'
--PJA performed 'Flava' & 'All Night All Right' at around 9pm --around 10.15pm,he sang 'Mysterious Girl' --i was too nervous & jammed the camera when he 1st appeared --i couldn't photograph PJA,& whatever pics i'd taken, they couldn't be developed
--the unusable exposed film still exists in my room, with only 6/36 films used up --i was disappointed that i couldn't take pics of him --my friend forgot to ask someone else for pics & that person lost them anyway
--i had a fever the next day:grief? --taped PJA's tv appearance broadcasted on 6 june --i didn't know that the show was prerecorded on 4 june --if i knew it,i would had gone to see the show --anyway,i had school on 4 june so it's a draw?
--continued trading with Claire --bought from her 7 2nd-hand Aust & UK singles,2 videos in Dec'98 --it cost more than S$75 for them;got posters & the 1997 calendar for free --the 2 videos are PJA tv appearances worldwide from 1992-1998 --but it's worthwhile since they are rare & couldn't be found/bought locally --bought the 2 official videos from her in March'99 --who knows,i might be the fan with the biggest PJA collection in Singapore..haha --of course, any $ spent on PJA is part of my savings
--i bought 2 PJA singles during a sale here --didn't buy new mags to get pics, just cut them out from the old mags --realised i should focus on collecting his music, not his pics --because i love his music most, his looks & other qualities are secondary --it's primarily his unique blend of music that attracted me to PJA --i got my 2nd PJA book as a gift from my NZ buddy Stu:my thanks to him --so i have 2 books now (yeah!)
--i'm still waiting for PJA's new album/singles to be released --in a local interview,he said the album would be released in early'99 --nothing happened so the local spokey stated the time as late'99 --the official Mushroom Records site then reported it as early 2000
--i certainly hope so:check out PJA News for new info --i believe i'll always remain a PJA fan & i'll still buy his cds:so i built this site --but nobody knows what would happen in the future
--i thank my family & friends(u know who u are)for their patience & support --special thanks goes to Claire,Lisa,Lise,Maria,Julie etc (for providing me PJA pics/info) --& to PJA for giving me the inspiration & to my visitors --best of luck to all.
