I never got to see the ORIGINAL line-up in concert, my first 10cc concert was in September, 1978, on the Bloody Tourists Tour. I suppose that's the real reason that my site is predominantly post-split 10cc, with very little mention of Kevin Godley or Lol Creme. However, it is my intention to try and redress that anomaly.

Back in 1983, myself, my (ex-)wife and my sister went to Birmingham for a 10cc concert at the Odeon, New Street. As soon as I had the tickets, I wrote to the Kennedy Street Artistes management asking about back-stage passes and whether or not it would be possible for us to meet the group.
A very nice reply was forthcoming, suggesting that I contact the tour manager before the concert, so that he might be able to sort something out.
Sure enough, he did...
One fantastic concert later, taking a 3 curtain call encore which included a wonderful version of Roll Over Beethoven (thanks, Stan) we went straight round to the stage door and waited for the tour manager to let us in... "OK ladies (!!?), you can come in now..." and we were ushered into the dressing room. Hands were shaken and congratulations were given for such an entertaining and brilliant concert... I've never known a bad one yet, and I've seen the lads at least 7 times in concert.
Now I've not met too many people in the entertainment business, but Eric, Graham, Rick, Paul, Stuart and Vic were all the height of good manners and friendliness. Considering that just a few minutes ago, they were still out on stage, here they were, meeting their public. There were a lot of fans waiting outside the stage door that night.
But we were first...
Having prior knowledge that Vic Emerson was guesting on keyboards for 10cc, I took my copy of 'Every Day Hurts', Sad Cafe's greatest hit, for Vic and Eric to sign. As you can see, it has been signed 'Eric Stewart (Producer)' so Vic wrote 'Vic Emerson (writer, player, wonderful guy etc)'.

For more information on Vic Emerson and Sad Cafe, click on the link at the bottom of this page.

Vic told us a little story of when each member of Sad Cafe was presented with a framed picture disc of 'Every Day Hurts' commemorating the amount of sales notched up. The 'award ceremony' took place just before a Sad Cafe concert, in the dressing room. After the concert Vic couldn't find his... apparently some rotten s*d had walked off with it from the dressing room. The things some people do...
10cc were only too happy to sign a whole load of singles and LP's for me when we met the group. Eric expressed delight when he saw this sleeve.
This got me thinking... I know the group has a say in what the LP's look like, but do they get to choose the cover designs for the singles too?
It's all well and good taking a bagful of singles and LP's to a concert to get them autographed, but it helps if you keep them with you. I accidentally left them in the foyer having been looking at the merchandise on sale before the concert. Talk about luck!!!

I realised what I'd done as soon as I had walked away, but even so.... After that, the bag never left my side all night.
I also have an LP display back-board from when Look Hear? was released. This as you can see is just a big green question mark. It's 40 inches by 30 inches in size, and if you decide to take it to a concert to get it autographed, you really need to make sure it gets signed by the WHOLE group...
