Between smiles and love
by M. F. Luder
There are things we know about the guys; things, you might say, we even take for granted. For example, Alex will always be the wild child while Howie is the mediator, Brian fits the profile for confidant as Nick is known as prankster of the group and Kevin, being the oldest and with the most serious character, doesn't need to try hard to be the big brother and calm refuge during a storm.
A person's character doesn't change drastically. The core, the center and the nature of said person will stay pure and perfect for all the days to come. And, believing such a thing in Kevin, a dear friend, barely a memory from the past, returns with enough force to swirl the peaceful waters that was Kevin's life.
Ergo, Kevin finds himself in the middle of chaos. His life has to be rearranged and accommodated, for it's not easy to take upon the care of someone else. But like his character dictates, Kevin faces this new challenge face forward, with confidence and conviction. With so much security, Elizabeth would have been proud.
And it's funny how things happen. Despite the surprise, the commotion, lost sense of balance, even despite the hard times, Kevin finds smiles shinning back at him and love in places he had never dared to look before.
That's what we would call an adventure.
In this case, Sarah Grayson is his new adventure.

I feel, Scully... that you believe... you're not ready to go. And you've always had the strength of your beliefs. I don't know if my being here... will help bring you back. But I'm here.
