Michelle Trachtenburg (Dawn)

When I found out that Michelle was going to play Buffy's sister Dawn on the show, I think I was the only person who was impressed.  I really liked Michelle's performance in "Harriet the Spy," and she's also been in other things I'd seen such as "Pete and Pete" on Nickelodeon and 'Inspecor Gadget."  None of these are particularly inspiring, but I always thought she was a stand-out performance in each one.  I actually like Dawn, unlike most Buffy fans out there now.  Which is all beside the point. Michelle was born on October 11th 1985 in New York, and her first acting job was in an ad at the age of 3.  In other words, she's another one of those child actors BtVS is so fond of.  Not that we're complaining--we get to see them more, and who'd want to miss that?!?  Michelle now lives in L.A with her parents, sister Irene, and cat Casey.  Before playing Dawn, Michelle was a big fan of BtVS--let's face it, who wouldn't be--so she was thrilled to get the part.  And nobody's happier for her than me--I think she's great, and I sure wouldn't mind a job on the show!  Michelle tries to get a good education.  She's tutored on set, when not in a normal school.  She loves charity work, including the Starlight Children's Foundation.  Hopefully all this information will make fans out of all you anti Dawn-ists out there!
