This takes place on the General Hospital episode that aired on Christmas Eve of 1998. It's Lucky Spencer and Elizabeth Webber in Lucky's apartment, and Elizabeth hands Lucky his present.
E:"Oh, geeze, you're one of THOSE." she says as Lucky slowly opens his present. "No, come on, just open it, open it!!"
L: "Careful, careful!" Lucky says as Elizabeth starts ripping the paper off. "What are you doing?"
E: "Tada!" She says as Lucky looks at his present. It's a painted picture of the boxcar Lucky used to live in.
L: "You did this?"
E: "It's my first oil. Is it okay?"
L: "Are you kidding? This is magnificant! YOu're sitting on some talent."
E: "Oh, not really, except maybe as a sneak! YOu could not believe how hard it was for me to pull this off without you finding out. I couldn't paint it in my bedroom because I was afraid you were going to come through my window at any second." She says with a giggle. "So I had to paint downstairs with the
drapes closed. Oh, and you see, these here..." She says, pointing to something in the picture.
L: "Musical notes."
E: "Not just any abritrary musical notes...that's the first chord on the song you wrote for me. I know because I went to a music teacher and played the first part of the taep for her. Don't worry, I stopped before you started singing. And she helped me transcribe it."
L: "I'm completely blown away!"
E: Satisfied giggle and big smile
L: "Man, I, um, got something for your too, but it's nothing like this."
E: Suckys in deep breath. "Ohhh, I love Christmas. Here.." Takes painting and sets it on the bed as
Lucky goes for her present.
L: "Okay, Now, if you don't like it, you don't have to keep it. We can get another one, a whole different
thing."
E: "Oh, Lucky, can I just have my present?" She says, interrupting him. "Thank you," She says in a soft
voice as Lucky hands it to her. Elizabeth takes the box and removes the top, her smile fades as she
looks at Lucky. She tosses the top and box away. In her hand is a little black box. She opens it to
find a gold ring with a pearl in the middle and a diamond on either side. She looks at the ring and then
up at Lucky.
L: I know it seems, um simple...That's what I like about it. I..I told the guy at the jewelry shop that it's simply for the most beautiful girl in the world."
E: Smiles, still looking at the ring. "Lucky," She says in a soft voice still not looking up."IT's perfect." She grins, looking up. Camera goes back and forth between the two.
NEXT SCENE
E: Takes the ring out of the box and looks at it...Breathes a small sigh of relief. "How could you think for even a second, that I wouldn't love this?" LOoks up. "This is the most beautiful ring that I've ever owned." Looks back at ring.
L:"I Know that we agreed not to see other people a while back, but I just wanted to make it official." Elizabeth looks at him with a grin on her face. "I, I wanted you... to have something you could wear..that says...that tells you...that we belong together."
E:"Hmmm.." softly as she looks at the ring she's holding.
L:"Something you can look at...anytime...day or night...and,uh...be reminded of ...how much you've changed my life....and how much I love you." Soft music begins to play and Elizabeth looks up as her big grin fades away to nothing.
E: "You just said that you love me..."
L:"I know...you don't have to say it back..I mean, you don't even have to love me back...I mean, you can consider this just an ordinary best friends ring...um...I just thought that you ought to know..."
E: "LUcky, I thought you already knew..."in an unsure voice. "I am in love with you. I have been all along." Camera goes back and forth between the two before cutting.
