"What ever we deny or embrace for worse or for better, we belong. We belong. We belong together." ~ Pat Benetar "We Belong"

2001

Kate loved her job. She took care of seven wonderful people in a home for mentally challenged adults. Living out in the mountains in the city of St. Anthony, Idaho was everything Kate could ever want. Everything but her parents. They had stayed in Florida when she left on a road trip with her friends and ended up staying in Idaho with her mother's friend, Samantha. Sam was very nice, and her daughter, Naomi, was really fun to hang out with. Naomi looked the same age as Samantha, and it was hard to believe that Sam was 50, and Naomi 30. They'd met before at the yearly reunion in Florida.
Kate always wondered where they all met. She was told they all worked together before. She suspected it had something to do with the phone calls. Every Monday, her mother received 10 phone calls, 15 minutes long each at the same exact time each week. Kate had never asked why, but always wondered.
Something that made her wonder even more was when Sam got 10 phone calls every week just like her mother. After all phone calls had come, Sam called Kate's mother and told her what each call was about, and "team gamma" was all right. Kate almost choked when Naomi asked if she could make the call to "Captain Janeway," this week. Sam coughed and nodded to the kitchen table, where Kate had been sitting.

"I'm going to work," Kate said as she got up to leave. "When I get off tomorrow, I want to know what the hell is going on with you and my Mom. For one thing, why she's called 'Captain,' and my dad 'Commander Chakotay. His name isn't even Chakotay. Its Chet. And why so secret about it? Why does Naomi know and I don't?"

"You're mother will explain it later." Kate rolled her eyes and went to work.

Sam woke up to the ringing of the phone next to her bed. She grumbled and turned over and picked it up.

"Hello?" she mumbled.

"Ensign," Chakotay said into the phone. "Eagle Alpha Delta."

"Commander?"

"Eagle Alpha Delta," he said a little more forcefully.

"Epsilon Gamma."

"Call your people Sam. Voyager is Go."

Kate was awake in the kitchen of the small house she worked at. All of the people she took care of were sleeping, as it was after 2 am. She could have slept in the office; being there 20 hours a day, she was allowed 8 off hours at night to sleep, but usually only slept an hour or two at the most. Her coworkers teased her about it, saying its all the coffee she drinks. Kate smiled at the jokes as she thought of them.
One coworker in particular teased her mercilessly about all the coffee. The two were close friends, so it didn't bother Kate a bit. Laney, who was 5'2 and very slim, much like Kate's mother, would get a step ladder and stand nose to nose with Kate and tease her about it. Kate would laugh and said, "What's it gonna do? Stunt my growth?" Kate wasn't nearly as small as her mother. The girl was 5'11 and had long brown hair. She wasn't a fat girl, but not nearly as frail and slinky as her Mom. Kate was average, and somewhat pleased being so.
She sipped her coffee and turned another page in her book. Kate was always reading of far away futuristic places like the ones in the stories her father told her when she was a little kid. Her coffee spilled everywhere when there was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" she asked. St. Anthony was a safe place, but she still worried endlessly about someone breaking in.

"Its Naomi!" Kate opened the door and let the older girl in. "Kate, call your boss to come in. We have to go."

"Are you NUTS? I can't just leave at 2:30 in the morning! John CAN'T come in! He'll KILL me! Worse, he'll fire me." Kate started wiping up the coffee.

"We won't be coming back." Kate looked at her inquisitively. "Ever." Kate threw the paper towels in the trash can and picked up the phone. She dialed and put it on speaker.

"Hello...?" John said.

"John, its Kate. I have to leave. I can't explain, but I have to leave now. I won't be coming back, and I won't be able to leave a forward address."

"I'll be there in 15 minutes. Stay there." Naomi shook her head telling Kate that that won't do.

"I don't have 15 minutes, John. Its life or death."

"How am I going to pay you?" Naomi smiled and shook her head again.

"Don't worry about that either, sir. Its all taken care of. I'm leaving the country in 2 minutes."

"OK, go. Take care."

"Bye." Kate hung up the phone. "We are leaving the country, right?"

"Boy is THAT the understatement of the century."

"Basement," Naomi said. Kate followed her downstairs. There were 11 or 12 other people waiting with Sam. "We're ready, Mom."

"Wildman to Voyager. All personnel of team Gamma have reported in. Team one is ready to beam up." Six people fell into a military-like formation. "Energize." They disappeared into light. "Team Two," she said, pointing to the remaining 6.

"Aw, Hell no!" Kate said. "I don't know what all that was, but I'm not down with being a particle of light."

"Kate," Naomi said. "It doesn't hurt. You'll rematerialize in a second on Voyager." Kate was backing away from the group.

"You're all in on this! I'm getting out of here.

"Wildman to Voyager. Commander, beam down. Kate is freaking," Naomi said into her comm badge.

"Naomi," Sam warned. Chakotay materialized at the door.

"Kate," he said, grabbing his daughter.

"Papa! They're trying to kill me."

"No, we aren't, Bumble Bee." He tapped his comm badge. "Energize." They disappeared, Kate screaming at the top of her lungs.

"You could have warned her, Chakotay," Kathryn said, smoothing down her daughters hair. The doctor had to sedate her. "She was terrified. I knew I should have been the one to go down there.

"I did what I thought was necessary."

"You almost gave her a heart attack, Commander," the Doctor said. He gave the girl a hypospray.

"Katie?" Chakotay said, holding his daughter's hand. Her eyes fluttered open. "Katie, you're all right. I can explain everything."

"Then do it," she said.

"You're on Voyager. Remember when you were little, I told you all those stories about the crew on the Star Ship Voyager? Lost in the Delta Quadrant, no one else to help them."

"I remember, Papa. You know, I'm not five anymore-WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?" B'Elanna popped her jaw and turned back to Kate. "Oh my GOD!"

"Hello, Katie. Nice to meet you. B'Elanna Torres-Paris."

"Aunt B'Elanna to you, Katie," Tom said, as he kissed his wife's neck. "Sorry we took so long to get Voyager back.

"The first Time trip drained the power cells, and it we've only got enough for another trip. I thought you'd want to save it for the trip home. That's why it took us 25 years to pick you up, Captain. I see you and Commander Chakotay had a nice little life there."

"Yes, we did! And some of us want to GO BACK to said life! I'm sorry, but being lost in the Delta Quadrant DOESN'T appeal to some of us."

"Kate, we're going to 24th century Earth. Its going to be wonderful compared to how we lived here," Kathryn told her daughter.

"I don't give a rat's ass!"

"Gretchen Kathleen, what have I told you about that vulgar language?"

"Shove it, Papa! You take me from the only PLANET I've ever been to, and expect me to be all, "Oh, this is cool. I'm in Space! Oh!" I'm sorry, but this isn't a normal thing! Another thing, why is everyone calling you Chatokay?"

"Chakotay," he corrected. "Its my name. I went by Chet on Earth because that particular Indian Tribe it came from is still on this planet, and I didn't want to run into my ancestors and mess with my family line."

"Okay, how did all this start, anyway. I'm completely lost."

1976

"We made it," Kathryn said, breathless. "Hail Star fleet."

"Um, Captain? Do you notice anything strange?" Tom said, turning around in his chair. "Like, the fact that there is no Starbase, no Fleet vessels, no shuttles, no-"

"We get the picture Tom. Find out what year it is. Dig in the history logs and find out as much as possible about it. I'll be in my ready room," she said quickly as she fought tears. Chakotay furrowed his brow slightly, as if trying to read her. He could feel her screaming inside.
As the door swished shut, Chakotay stood to follow.

"Tuvok, you have the bridge." He rang the chime. The door slid open. Kathryn was at her desk, facing the window. Her ready room was dark; her face, a shadowed profile. Chakotay could see tears on her cheek in the little bit of light from the moon. "Kathryn," he said, sitting across from her.

"I never gave you permission to speak freely, Commander." He placed his rank on her desk.

"I'm not in uniform."

"Then you're dismissed." She stood and walked over to the couch and stared out at the moon in an almost hypnotic manner. "We are so close, and again its snatched away," she said as another tear fell. "I don't know how much more disappointment this crew can handle."

"We're a strong crew, Kathryn. They'll do everything to make the best of it."

"Its the second time to make it to Earth, and the second time, its the wrong century. Its killing us. Its only been 5 years, and I can't imagine having to wait another 45 to get there. Its too much, Chakotay. Its very lonely in that chair."

"It doesn't have to be." She glanced back at him. "Do you listen to any 20th century music?" She shook her head.

"That's Tom's thing."

"You should sometime. That century had some of the greatest love song's of Earth's time." Kathryn nodded. "Kathryn, why don't we go down there. Everyone who can be altered to look human can go for a few days anywhere in America as long as they can stay in groups of 10 and check in every day with the ship, then it should be all right. We need the moral boost."

"You're right, of course." Kathryn wiped her cheeks. Somehow, talking to Chakotay made things quite a bit better.

*Paris to Janeway.*

"Go ahead Tom."

*Its 1976. We have a plan.*

Everyone listened intently to B'Elanna and Seven speak. They were going to pull off
a James T. Kirk, and warp around the sun in a Time Travel Jump.

"We've got to run a few tests first. I recommend that all that can blend in down there, go ahead and stay. Seven, Harry, Tuvok, and Tom could stay here with me and we can jump 20 years or so, then go back to now, and then do a full jump to the 24th century. If we don't make it, its four of us dead, and the rest of you living on Earth." B'Elanna shifted nervously. Kathryn had paid attention, but still seemed preoccupied.

"Chakotay, have everyone who can be altered to appear human report to the Doctor with the orders to be altered. B'Elanna, have what's left of your staff get packs together. Everyone will have one comm badge, 5 Data PADDs, and a portable replicator. Seven, you and Tom take a look in the data base and find out everything you can about this decade. I want everything; fashion, language patterns, music, news, everything. When its all ready, there will be a briefing in Cargo Bay 1. For now, I'll scan for a place where we can beam down and live without interfering with history. Have Ensign Wildman report to my readyroom with Naomi."

"What's your name?"

"Naomi Wildman. What's yours?"

"How old are you?"

"Nine, you?"

"Where are you from?"

"I was born in Boston, but we moved to St. Anthony, Idaho last month."

"Where did you go to school?"

"Home school. I'm going to start public school next week." Kathryn smiled at the 5 year old. "How was that, Captain?"

"Perfect Naomi. What team are you in?"

"What?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Kathryn laughed. "I'm smarter than the average bear!"

"Where did you hear that?"

"Yogi Bear. It comes on Saturday morning cartoons." Naomi winked at her Captain. "I've been studying a lot of history with Tom." Naomi put her hand to her forehead. "I miss my horns. They were cool."

"I know, Naomi, but this is going to be 20 years without them, and then you can go back to being a normal 5 year old half human, half K'Tarrian kid."

1979

Kathryn sighed heavily. The phone calls had stopped for the night. All teams had checked in. She stepped out onto her back porch and sat on the swing. It was almost time for sunset, and watching it on the beach of Los Angelos, she could pretend its was her own century. Her golden retriever, Bear, leapt up onto the swing and plopped her head onto Kathryn's lap.

"Beautiful," Chakotay said from next to the porch. Kathryn whipped around at his voice.

"Chakotay!" she called, launching herself into his arms. "My god, I've missed you. You haven't been out here in nearly 2 years." He smiled into her shoulder, hugging her tightly. Bear barked once, but decided it was all right for Kathryn to be close to this new stranger, and went back to sleep.

"Wow, Kathryn, cutoffs and a tank top looks......wow. I never thought I'd see you go barefoot."

"I HAD to were shoes on the ship, but we aren't on the ship anymore." She looked him up and down. He had been working out, obviously, and wore a white t shirt, blue jeans and Starfleet issue boots. Oddly, they were in style in this era.

"I found something in my book, and had to get one. Come and see this." He took her hand and lead her around front. There, a shiney new two seater Harley waited; two helmets on the seats. "Would you like a ride?"

"Of course," she said sternly. "You know I like going fast." She wiggled her eyebrows. "Let me go get some long pants and my boots on."

"You know I stopped going by Chakotay when we moved out here," he said following her in. He poured himself a glass of juice and sat at the table while she dressed.

"What is your name now?"

"Chet Littlefeild."

"I love it!" she said as she came out. She changed her clothes to match his, only she wore a tank top, and he was in a t shirt. He stood at the door to the kitchen, mouth slightly open.

"Kat, we look like a couple," he said, trying to cover.

"A couple of what, Commander?" She gentle elbowed him as she passed towards the kitchen.

"Stop it, Kathryn," he said softly. "You know what that does to me. You know how I feel about you." She turned to face him.

"I know," she said, smiling softly. "I just wanted to know if you still felt that way." He took her hand and gently pulled her towards him. "Chakotay, I'm sorry I never let you get close to me. Now, there is no protocol, no ship, no crew, no doubts."

"No more pushing me away, Kat." He leaned down and kissed her, pulling her up onto the counter. "I love you, Kathryn."

"Kat, Chakotay. I love how it sounds when you say it," She kissed him again. "I love you, too." Chakotay kissed her again, running his hands over her back, to her stomach, and finally taking one of her breasts in his hand, gently squeezing. She moaned into the kiss. He lifted her and carried her into the bedroom.

Naomi handed in her geometry homework, and went back to her seat in the back of the class. She knew everything the teacher would go over, and would often show the teacher a few new short cuts and tricks to make it easier for the students to understand.

"Naomi, this isn't due until next week. I just handed this out 5 minutes ago."

"I can't help it if the work is really easy, Mrs. Hammond. Check it if you want. Its all correct. Can I go to the library now?" she asked.

"Um, not yet. There's something I need your help with," Mrs. Hammond said pulling out some papers. "Class, start on the homework I just handed out. Naomi, I'm working on my doctorate, and this is way over my head. Can you make heads or tails of it?" Naomi glanced at it. She'd been working on this with B'Elanna. Some of the equations were similar to those used in the shield matrix.

"Oh this! I know this," she said, starting to outline the first problem. "If you multiply these two numbers first, the rest falls right into place. See?"

"No."

"Watch." Naomi finished the first problem. "Now do you see?"

"Kind of." The woman studied the girl's work for a minute. "I get it now! Thanks, Naomi."

"Any time."

"Naomi, what do you plan on doing after high school?"

"I don't know yet," Naomi lied, knowing if she told her she wanted to be an engineer on Voyager, there would be questions. "A writer, I guess."

"You have to potential to be anything you could ever want to be! There isn't another 13 year old in the school that can speak French, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Portugese, and countless other languages, do trig in seconds when it took my professer half an hour to do this problem, and I've heard you sing, and play the piano. You could have a career in ANY feild; you could probably graduate next year if you so choose to."

"I want to write, not do mathmatical equations my whole life."

"What do you write?"

"Science fiction. Let me tell you a story. The year is 2381. Captain Kathryn Janeway of the starship Voyager......."

Kathryn stepped out of the shower and reached for a towel. Chakotay handed it to her.

"Thanks, love," she said as her wrapped it around her. "Sleep well?"

"Better than I have in 9 years. You?"

"Wonderful, now get out of my bathroom so I can get dressed," she said pushing him away. Chakotay was about to object when the door shut in his face. He let out a 'hrumpf' and went to sit on the couch, stopping to pull on his t-shirt and blue jeans. Bear had taken over the couch, and only slightly move her head to make room. When Chakotay sat, Bear dropped her head in his lap. He scratched her ears and pet her while he waited for Kathryn.

"Still want to go for the ride on your motercycle?" She asked, pulling her leather jacket on.

"If I were to ask you to come with me, and not to ask any questions, would you go?" Kathryn smiled and nodded. "No questions asked."

"None."

"Come with me," he said, taking her hand and leading her towards the door.

"Where are we going?" Chakotay rolled his eyes.

Sam dialed the phone number again for the third time. Still no answer. Kathryn had been gone a full two weeks at least, and Sam was worried. Naomi, now 9, but appeared 14, sat at the table and waited for her mother to hang up the phone.

"Its time to call Chakotay, Mom." Sam thought for a moment and nodded in agreement.

"He's still in Florida, right?"

"Yeah, the number is next to the phone." Sam looked at the paper and dialed.

"Commander, Ensign Wildman, team Gamma."

"Charlie 07?" he asked, to be sure it was her.

"Beta Gamma," she confirmed, which also meant she had just checked with her all from team.

"Hello, Sam. How's Naomi?"

"Good. Commander, no one has been able to find Captain Janeway for nearly 2 weeks now. Have you been able to contact her?"

"Yes, she and I eloped 3 weeks ago, right after the calls were done." Samantha smiled ear to ear.

"Oh my Gods! Congratulations! I take it we call here from now on to report in."

"What happened?" Naomi called from the table. Sam waved her quiet.

"Yes, call here. I take it Team Gamma is good."

"Yes, we're great. Have a good honeymoon, Commander!" Sam hung up. Naomi was sitting next to her. "I'm STARVING! Did you cook dinner?" she asked, teasing Naomi.

"Yes, but you can't have any until you tell me what happened! Come ON Mom!" Naomi takled Sam as she jumped up, trying to run. "Can't get up tell you spill it!"

"Naomi! Get off!" she said, laughing.

"Nope!"

"UNCLE! UNCLE! They eloped. Commander Chakotay and Captain Janeway got married." Naomi let her mother up.

"Cool! I'm late for work, so I'll see you later, Mom."

"Work? Your 9 years old, Na."

"I look 15. I only ACT 9. Later."

1982

Kathryn turned over in bed, wrapping her arms around her husband. "Morning," Chakotay mumbled lightly. "Know what today is?"

"Sunday, June 6, 1982. Our third anniversery."

"Mmm-hmm. Got you something. Look under your pillow." Kathryn felt under the pillow and found a small black box. "Are you going to stare at it or open it?" he asked, turning to face her. She opened it and smiled at him. It was a gold necklace, with a coffee cup charm. The charm had little tiny diamonds as the saucer and steam.

"Its beautiful, Chet! Come and see what I got for you."

"Do I have to move to see it."

"You'd probably get mad if I try to lift it." Chakotay stared at her in confusion. "Come and see, Chet. You'll love it." Chakotay rolled out of bed and followed her to the extra bedroom. "Close your eyes." Chakotay patiently obeyed as Kathryn opened the door. "Look." The empty room had been transformed into a nursery in pale pink, blue and yellow. "Its a nursery."

"I see that. Kathryn?"

"Yes?"

"Why do we have a nursery?"

"Because."

"Because......?"

"Because, if we're going to have a baby in 7 and a half months, which we are, we'll need one." Chakotay smiled at her. She nodded and he silently lifted her into his arms, kissing her passionatly. "Now, go make breakfast while I straighten up our bedroom."

"Who helped you do all this?"

"Julia, from next door helped paint on Monday, Cynthia took me shopping on Tuesday, and the three of us decorated the rest of the week while you were out of town last week. I'm starving." Kathryn walked off towards the kitchen.

"Oh, no you don't. I'm cooking, you go back to bed, I'll bring it to you."

"I'm pregnant, not paralyzed."

"What, can't a guy treat his wife to breakfast in bed?"

"You, Chakotay, are probably going to go anal on me if I move an inch during the next 7 months months." Kathryn gave in with one worried look from Chakotay and went back to bed. "Be careful, Chet, I might just get used to this. I may never want to go back to work."

"Kat, you don't have to work. I make enough to take care of us for the rest of our lives. And we've got the replicators if it comes down to it."

"I love teaching. It took me four years to get the degrees to teach. I didn't even have a computer. Of course it was all stuff Naomi was learning when she was 4, but that isn't the point. The point is, I'm not quitting my job. You quit your job!"

"I love construction work. Building things is fun, even if the company sends me to New York for a week at a time to explain plans to a bunch of suits. I don't know of any other 6th grade teachers who teach the kids geometry or trig. It was unheard of in this era. We're not supposed to interfere with the time line."

"We're going to unmake the next 20 years, so why not have fun with it?" Kathryn thought for a minute. "If B'Elanna does come back to get us in 20, and we undo the 25 years we've been here, we'll loose what we have. I'll loose you, Chakotay, and the baby. I'm not so sure about this plan anymore." Tears came to her eyes.

"Kat, she promised she'd contact us, and she will. We don't have to go back. We can choose to stay, and therefore, not loose a thing." Chakotay took her into his arms. "I promise Kathryn, we'll stay together. We belong together."

1993

"Kate," Kathryn called. The ten year old girl took her headphones off. "Where's your Dad?"

"Roof. 'Nother hole."

"Did you finish your homework?"

"Yeah, like, an hour ago when you asked me last. I'm gonna go walk the dog." Kate leashed the puppy. "C'mon Bandit." Kate stopped at the door. "Walk with me, Mom?"

"Why not?" Kathryn sipped her coffee and put the cup in the sink and followed her daughter out. The sky was a brilliant shade of blue that day, it smelled of mischeif.

"Mom," Kate said softly. "What is Voyager?"

"Just a story your Papa tells very well. Why?"

"I found this in Bandit's bed." She held out a comm badge. "It was in one of your paintings. 'Tom and B'Elanna,' I think. I pushed it and said 'Janeway to Wildman', and it answered." Kathryn swallowed hard, thinking of an explaination.

"Kathleen, you must never tell anyone about that. It could be a lot of trouble. A lot of questions we can't answer."

"If you don't know, then why do you have it?"

"We know, we just can't say, Katie. When did you find it?"

"Samantha should be calling. Let's go one back. We can walk Bandit again later." Kathryn took her comm badge and placed it caefully in her pocket. "You have to promise me you'll keep it quiet. Even at the reunion next week. The adults know about it, but none of the kids know, so this has to be between us." Kate nodded.

2001

"Hi Kate," Tommy said, bouncing into sickbay. "Dad told me they...beamed you aboard. I hated my beam up. It was really messed up."

"For real!" Kate said leaning into her boyfriend's arms.

"Mr. Kim, where is your father?" Kathryn asked.

"Dad's on the bridge with.....someone. I think her name is Six."

"Seven?"

"That's it." Kathryn nodded and left the two alone. "Kate, I really don't understand what is going on here. Do you?" She nodded, head still buried in his chest. "My Dad said where we're going is a lot different. Its like, Earth is really dark and evil, but we're going to the future, where its light and good." Kate nodded again. "So, he thinks I'm still four obviously."

"Parents.....can't live with them; no place to hide the bodies." Tommy chuckled lightly.

"Go for a walk with me." Kate looked at the doctor who nodded. The two headed down the corridor.

"So your Dad said we're going to 'the light place.'?"

"Something like that. We belong there. Little or no illness, life span is roughly 130 years, and interstellar travel! Sounds like my kind of place."

"We belong to the light, we belong to the thunder. We belong to the words we're both falling under. What ever we deny or embrace for worse or for better, we belong. We belong. We belong together."

"Nice poem."

"Its a song by Pat Benetar. Papa used to sing it to me. I think she wrote it with us and this whole situation in mind."

"You may be right."

"We've managed to squeeze enough power to go back 25 years and pick everyone up, and then go back to our own time," B'Elanna said, pointing to the charts. "We'll have to shut off everything that's not completely necessary. If we evacuate everyone the first three decks on the second trip, we can shut off all power to the other decks, except needed areas of the ship. It'll give us the extra push."

"Won't that unmake the last 25 years?" Chakotay asked.

"Basically, yes."

"What about our daughter, Kate?" Kathryn asked, taking Chakotay's hand. "I'm not about to loose my daughter."

"And my kids, Janie and Thomas?" Harry asked. "We had to leave their mother on Earth, I'm not going to loose my son and daughter as well as my wife.

"They'll stay aboard. They'll be fine up here, just your last 20 years will go back. As we go back, they'll be protected." Kathryn thought about it.

"Do it."

1976

"Los Angeles. Its beautiful. You know, at sunset like this, I can almost pretend that we're back on Earth in our own time, Chakotay," Kathryn said as the crew of the USS Voyager watched the sunset on the beach in LA. Naomi looked up at her mother

"Is this what our Earth is like, Mommy?"

"A little, but we have a much more advanced life."

*Torres to Janeway,* bleeped over the comm badge Kathryn wore inside her jacket.

"Janeway. Is everything all right, B'Elanna?"

*Prepare to beam up. Your daughter is starting to worry about you.*

"What daughter?"

*Long story.*

"Hi, Kathryn Janeway."

"Kate Janeway," Kate said, shaking her mother's hand. "I wish you could remember me."

"You can tell me everything when we get back to Star Fleet Headquarters. It'll be a few more minutes."

"Are you and Dad going to get married?"

"Most likely. We do have a daughter to get to know. Who knows? I'm still young. You may have a little brother or sister in a few years."

"Sounds cool."

"Kate? How was your childhood? Were we a good couple?"

"Papa used to sing a song. The words were "We belong to the light, we belong to the thunder. We belong to the words we're both falling under. What ever we deny or embrace for worse or for better, we belong. We belong. We belong together." Pat Benetar," Kate said."

"Oddly, I think I understand what you mean."

"Papa used to sing it to me when I was little," Kate said softly.

"Captain, Kate, prepare to beam down."

"Well, Mom, you got them home," Kate said as the two stepped onto the pad to beam down to Star Fleet HQ. "You got them home."

End? I think NOT!
