The Road to BallyK

PLEASE NOTE: On this BallyK page the series will be referred to as the BBC does: series 1, 2, & 3 cover the episodes which feature the characters of Peter and Assumpta ending with "Amongst Friends."

Series 4 marks the arrival of Father Aidan O'Connell. Series 5 began broadcast on Sept 26, 1999 in the UK and reached the US in March 2000. Series 6, the last final series, began transmission in the UK March 2001. It will likely air in U.S. markets the following fall or winter.

Now for those using PBS guides and information they refer to the first 26 episodes with Peter and Assumpta as series 1 and 2. In their terms series 2 ends with "Amongst Friends." The series that begins with the arrival of Father Aidan is labeled series 3.

I know...too confusing! For the sake of International Peace and due to the fact that my simple mind has already locked into the BBC model I am using the BBC breakdown of the series. The plain fact of the matter is that on ALL fan pages in the U.S., UK and elsewhere the BBC's method in referring to a series is used.

Hope I haven't lost anyone! I bring this up particularly for the benefit of the viewer who may contact their PBS station. If one is not aware of their "quirk" you might find yourself with quite a headache by the end of the conversation. Best advice: use episode titles if you know them, use characters such as Peter and Assumpta as reference points, and last of all understand the PBS breakdown method.

Ballykissangel is broadcast in the United States on PBS and BBCAmerica (accessible by satellite dish and cable).

BBCAmerica broadcasts Ballykissangel and is available through satellite sources such as DISH (Echostar), Primestar, and DIRECTV. Programming information for BBCAmerica can be found at www.bbcamerica.com
