Ballykissangel, frequently referred to as BallyK is a fictional Irish town which serves as the setting for this popular BBC television series. This Irish comedy/drama of village life is filmed in Avoca, Ireland, a village in County Wicklow. The storylines offer such a great mix of humor, warmth and pathos that viewers quickly find themselves regular visitors of BallyK.

The series began with the arrival of an English curate to the village. As Father Peter Clifford (Stephen Tompkinson)assumes his responsibilities in Ballykissangel the viewers are introduced to the residents of the village.
