[Willie is waxing the hallway floor as Nancy walks up]
Nancy: Oh! Bet you can't do that and chew gum at the same time.
Willie: You're probably right. I'm just good at simple tasks -- like cooking, and waxing the floors, and acting as a cover for my sister...
Nancy: Cover?
Willie: What was I supposed to do if Lois had come out of the bathroom while you and Tom were making out in the kitchen -- yell "Fire!" and push her out into the garden?
Nancy: Making out? What a way you have with words.
Willie: I didn't imagine the two of you in the kitchen, Nancy.
Nancy: No, you didn't, but you sure imagined the rest of it.
Willie: Well, a person can only go by what he sees.

Stacey Palmer: How come your mother didn't stick up for your pal, last night?
Buddy: I don't know what you're talking about.
Stacey: I guess she's worried about your relationship with a certain party.
Buddy: I dare you to keep talking.
Stacey: Some of us have always wondered about you, Buddy.
Other girl: I certainly have. I meant to ask: how come you wanna try out for the boys' basketball team?
Buddy: For your information, there's a law about discrimination in sports.
Stacey: I bet I know who taught you that. Hey, Buddy -- when Miss Jessup leaves, is she gonna take you with her, the way she did the girl in her other school?
Buddy: What are you talking about?!
Stacey: For your information, Buddy Lawrence, people go by what they see.
