Written by Lawrence M. Konner; produced by Nigel McKeand; directed by Richard Kinon. Season Hubley: Salina Magee. Jane Alice Brandon: Alexandra Friel. Patsy Garrett: Mrs. Kessler. Priscilla Morrill: Elaine Hogan. Michael David Schackelford: Timmy Maitland.

Kate: How should I make this out, Elaine?
Elaine: The Save the Whales Committee.
Kate: Just once, I wish you'd come over here to see me without your tambourine.
Elaine: It's a good cause, Kate.
Kate: I know. You never met a whale you didn't like.

Buddy: Mom, could you get me piece of cake and a glass of milk, please?
Kate: Anything else, Your Majesty?
Buddy: She's in the kitchen, fixing a baby bottle.
Kate: Salina won't bite you, Buddy.
Buddy: I may bite her.

Kate: When I was a kid, I wanted to live in New York more than any place in the world.
Doug: Think of it, Kate... The museums, the theater... The Empire State Building...
Kate: Statue of Liberty...
Doug: Brooklyn Bridge...
Kate: Bloomingdale's...
Doug: Bloomingdale's?
Kate: Never mind.

Kate: Do you think Willie will come with us?
Doug: Oh, why not? I never thought for a minute that he wouldn't.
Kate: Well, think for a minute.
Doug: I just assumed he would... But you're right, I mean, he's a grown-up now, he's a man, with a job, a wonderful girl...
Kate: Two wonderful girls.
[pause]
Doug: All things considered, he might be quite anxious to skip town.
