BBC News Online asks "Can
the world go on as it is?", and The Looney Party responds:
Without a doubt the answer is No.
Or Yes.
Well, maybe.
The truth of the matter is that The Looney Party claims exclusive rights
to declarations about when and how the world is going to end and doesn't
appreciate such
rampant violations of said rights by BBC News Online or Nostradamus
or God. In fact, last week The Looney Party successfully filed a
lawsuit (in the US and
under the auspices of their "Digital Millennium Copyright Act") against
"The Lord Our God" claiming damages in excess of £100,000,000 for
the entire text of
"Revelations". Our lawyer assures us that the other party will
wish to settle this claim rather than go to trial; so, we are awaiting
His attorney's official response.
Despite these legal hurtles we must face in defending our right to be
the sole voice in stating when and how the world is going to end, The Looney
Party would like to assure all inhabitants of the Earth that this planet
will, by no means, end due to the unsustainability of consumption.
Rest assured that in the knowledge that
"unsustainable consumption" will only mean the end of civilisation--the
world will continue on quite happily.
