Hi, Welcome to Andy J's pages.

Home Pages are strange things...It's very easy to have a good laugh at sad home pages, where the poor misguided fool is saying "look at me, I'm interesting - honest! Here's a picture of my cat".On the other hand, it's a little refreshing that these people are reaching out in a friendly manner and saying "Hi - here I am, welcome!" I always thought I'd never do this sort of thing, because I'm more swayed by the reasoning that pointless pages are completely, well... pointless. I thought that, with no interesting information to share with the world, there would be no point publishing anything. On the other hand, even a page with just a piccy and an e-mail address does serve a limited purpose. So, having warmed to the idea... here's my site! Now, I have many, many interests, most of which are well catered for on the web. The only pages I've compiled consist of information that's not available elsewhere, or stuff that's very specific to me. This means that the pages here are bound to only appeal to a very small number of people. If there's nothing here you like, sorry! If you form an opinion of me based on this small selection of interests (which aren't exactly the whole of my life) you may well be wrong. Unless my personality shines through the quality of my writing, ha ha .
I have endured many wet and lonely office lunch hours with nothing better to do than have a go compiling webpages for the sheer heck of it. These pages start small, but just seem to grow and grow until they are either jolly impressive or exceptionally sad depending on your point of view. So... what have I chosen to write about? Marvel at the following : Thomas DolbyI like his music. You may not. Fine. We're all different, thank God. I bet I enjoy a wider range of music than most people. Tom is one of the few artists that have never produced an unlistenable track, in my opinion, over several excellent albums. He's widely regarded by musicians as a pioneering synthesiser expert, plus he's a top bloke, has worked well with some of the biggest names in the business while remaining down to earth - AND he appreciates his fans. He joins in the fan mailing list (full of intelligent people) AND I've even had e-mail from him. Cool.Walford (BBC TV's EastEnders)My one soap addiction. It's harmless. I grew up (arguable!) with this soap, so it's like catching up with a branch of the family or something. I like to have a clear idea of the layout of things I see on TV, so having found out what I wanted to know I threw this together to share my findings with the world. This page is evidence of my need to map and chart things for some strange reason, which has at least been useful in my career. There's nothing better on TV at 7:30pm anyway!Radio stuff...I also have some web-space at finalysys.com via a personal connection. There are pages here about the history of broadcasting in Jersey (British Channel Islands), such as Radio Lions. Yes, I love music and technology so much that I'm bound to be nuts about radio, right? Also, a site for Radio Force 7 that once upon a time allowed me to indulge in a little radio presentation.
Yes, the background is my pic, but this does not necessarily mean that I want to stare at myself all day or something. I've turned the contrast down so far that you can't easily see it. I though it was an interesting effect at the time, and I can't be bothered to change it. Isn't it more visually interesting to have some sort of background than none at all? So there it is, my defensive self-apologetic homepage. All in all there's more than likely nothing here of interest if you've come straight to this page - but I've tried to explain why. Sorry about that.
Best wishes though, P.S. Oh alright then, here's a piccy of my cat.
