Reproach

Diane was having a panic attack.  She was hysterical.  Danny was trying to keep the
oxyen mask on her.  She was fighting him.
"Maggie, get me that diazapam!"  Danny intjected the seditieve.  "That's it.  Breathe,
Diane.  Breathe."
Diane stopped struggleing as the seditive took effect.
"Let's get a blood gas and an ekg just to be safe.  Then  call psych."
Dennis found Danny twenty minutes latter.  "I heard.  How is she?"
"Right now she's got enough seditive in her to knock out king kong.  She'll be fine for
awhile.  It was jsut a panci attack.  I'm suprized she gone this long with out seditives."
"Is she still claiming shes killed Alan?"
"What?"
"I found her by the el earlier.  She was babbling about how she killed Alan."
"Jesus."
"Yeah.  Where's she at?"
"Curtian two.  I'm still waiting for psych."
"I'll go talk to her."
"Dennis, she doesn't look too good."
"What do you mean?"
"She's been cutting herself."
Dennis tryed to talk to her.  But he ended up just sitting by her and holding her hand
while she slept.  He flet guilty.  He know she needed help.  He'd been angry at her
behavoir toward Gary Poltran.  He know how scared and upset she'd been.  He's been
taking care of her and then he turned on her.  He's been angry at that kid too but he'd let
Diane have it.  She'd done what he secretly had wanted to do.  The fact that he felt that
way disusted him.  His anger at Diane had been his anger at himself.  He'd had no right to
take it out on her.
Her eyes fluttered.
"diane, Diane?  Can you here me?"
"Dennis?"
"Yeah, it's me.  I'm right her."
"I'm sorry."  Tears ran down her face.  "Im so sorry."
"It's not your fault."  Dennis smoothed back her hair.  "It's not your fault.  Shh."
He sat wiht her while she cried.
PHillip sat in his office wiht Kate.  "She's still here?"
"They moved her out of psych though."
"How's she doing?"
"The woman practicly suffered a nervous break down, Phillip.  How do you think she's
doing?"
"When did someone notice?"
"We should have noticed after she attacked Gary Pltran.  No one actually noticed u7ntil
she had a massive panic attack in ther er.  At least she managed to get herslef ther before
she completley lost it."
"Has she stopped culting herself?"
"Yes.  She's not well, Phillip, but she's better."
"Thank God."
