When the reached the hospital Gillian was sent right in to ER. After calling Eugenia and Edmund, there was nothing left for Ryan to do but wait. When Eugenia and Edmund arrived they came over and sat with Ryan in the waiting room. It was about an hour later when Jake came to give them an update on Gillian’s condition. Jake looked really shaken as he spoke and Ryan assumed that it was because Him and Gillian where good friends. "Well, she had a couple of broken ribs and she’s also badly bruised. But the worse thing is she has slipped in to a coma." Jake told them.
After he said this Eugenia started to cry and Edmund tried to calm her down. "Ryan, The next 48 hours are the most important. And I think the thing that will bring Gillian back is the people who love her." Jake told him walking off. Ryan sat there thinking about what Jake had said until Edmund approached him. "Listen Ryan, I’ve convinced Eugenia that she needs to get some sleep and can come back tomorrow morning so we are going to leave. I suggest you go home and do the same thing."
"Thanks but no thanks Edmund. I’d rather stay here with Gillian." Ryan told him.
"Okay." Replied Edmund.
After they left Ryan joined Jake at the door of Gillian’s room. "About what you said before about people who love her being with her." Ryan paused before going on. "Am I allowed in?" He asked.
"Well, I did sneak Gillian in with you last time, so go ahead." Jake told Ryan smiling as Ryan rushed through the door.
He sat down in the chair beside her bed and took her hand. She had small cuts over her face from the glass and a couple of bruises, but to Ryan she looked as beautiful as ever. "Hey Princess. You know the two of us need to avoid hospitals." He told her thinking about the holiday’s explosion and when he fell though the ice. He sat there with her, watching her. A smile touched his face as he remembered the time he had thrown her in the shower.
Gillian: "You slobber more then a saint Bernard!"
Him: "You're jealous!"
Gillian: "What?"
Him: "The royal colors just turned six shades of green."
Gillian: "Have you cracked up? I'm not jealous of you, Ryan Lavery. Not in a hundred, million years."
Him: "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much."
Gillian: "I would have to care about you to be jealous, and I don't. But, I do have feelings - which you enjoy hurting."
Him: "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings."
Gillian: "No, of course not. You never do."
Him: "Well, to be honest, I didn't think much of anything penetrated that shell of yours."
Gillian: "There you go again. I'm not a seashell. I'm a woman."
"That was back when we hated eachother." Ryan said outloud. He kept talking to Gillian all through the night until he started to fall asleep.
