Chapter Six
(A few days later)
Ryan showed up at Wildwind ready to carry out his suprise that had fallen through from their previous date. Gillian was eager to find out where they were going, but Ryan just smiled and grabbed her hand.
"What no bike?" Gillian laughed as she realized they were going to drive instead of bike this time.
"I thought this may be a little safer" Ryan smiled "But if you want I think I could find a bike we could use"
Gillian shook her head "No way, I much perfer driving thank you very much."
"If you insist" Ryan said opening the door for Gillian
"Oh I do" Gillian said smiling "Will you please give me a little hint as to where we are going"
Ryan again only smiled and shut Gillian's car door and walked over to the driver's side and got in.
****************
Ryan pulled up to the Pine Valley Lake and got out. Gillian frowned as she got out "Did we make a wrong turn somewhere?" she asked
"Nope" Ryan said smiling "This is the right spot"
Ryan opened the trunk and handed Gillian a fishing pole and grabbed her hand and led her toward the lake "I was going to take you fishing before. I think it's the perfect time to talk as we wait for the fish to bite."
Gillian looked down at the pole "So that's what this is, a fishing pole? How do you catch fish with this thing?"
Ryan smiled "I'll show ya just a second" He ran back to the car and brought out some lawnchairs, a radio, and bag of food.
Gillian sat down her in lawnchair and Ryan turned on some music.
"Ryan how did you think you were going to get all this here on a bike?"
Ryan smiled as he unfolded his lawnchair and postioned it next to Gillian's "I had it all set up here and thought it would be relaxing after our bike ride."
Gillian smiled "But Ryan it rained that night! Was all your stuff ruined?"
Ryan laughed as he stuck a fake worm on his hook "Some of it like the food and all that"
Gillian looked at Ryan putting the multicolored worm on the hook "I'm sorry" she said without much feeling "Umm Ryan what's wrong with that worm?"
Ryan smiled "Nothing"
Gillian's eyes were filled with question "Then why is it pink and yellow"
Ryan laughed "Because it's fake"
Gillian nodded "Right, I knew that" she said as she grabbed a night crawler from the tackle box and slipped it on her hook and cried out as she poked herself with the hook.
"Careful" Ryan said as he cast his line and set it down and went around the back of Gillian and helped her cast hers. The two sat and talked as they waited for the fish to bite.
"Pretzle?" Ryan asked chowing down on some food he had brought
"Sure" Gillian said grabbing for the pretzle, just then Gillian felt her line give a tug and she dropped the pole and jumped outta her chair "Ryan my pole thing here just moved" Ryan grabbed the fishing pole quickly from the grass and yelled "Gillian you got a fish!" He started reeling in a fairly good sized fish.
Gillian screamed as Ryan brought it out of the water "Ryan that's gross, put it back"
Ryan smiled "I guess you don't want to take it off the hook"
Gillian shook her head "Oh my God you mean you have to touch it?"
"How else do you think your going to get it off the hook?"
Gillian shrugged her shoulders "Isn't there like a button you can push or something?"
Ryan laughed "Nope, no magic buttons for that but maybe you could invite one"
"Yeah sure just put that thing back in the water" Gillian said eyeing the fish dangling from her fishing pole.
Ryan grabbed the fish as Gillian winced. He got the fish off the hook and threw it back in the water.
Gillian sat back down in her chair smiling "Wow I caught my first fish." she said boastfully "That was actually pretty easy"
Ryan smiled as he looked at Gillian "I'll bet"
Gillian shrugged her shoulders and smiled.

(A while later)
Niether one had caught a fish so they began playing the game "I spy" and it was now Gillian's turn.
"I spy with my little eye something..." she looked around but everything that they could still see had already been used. She looked down at her shirt and decided to use that "something red"
Ryan threw his head back "Oh gee I just don't know" he said "Your shirt?" he said in mock confusion.
Gillian laughed "Well there is nothing left out we've already used the trees, grass, dirt, just about everything we can think of"
Ryan laughed "Your right, I'm sorry"
"I hope so" Gillian said pretending to be upset.
Ryan and Gillian decided it was time to head back to Wildwind and they began packing up their stuff. Gillian stopped and grabbed Ryan's arm "Look" she said pointing toward the sky "The sun is beginning to set"
Ryan smiled as he followed Gillian's gaze. The two stood smiling "Isn't that just the most beautiful thing you've ever seen?" she asked still in awe. Ryan looked toward Gillian "Yeah it sure is"
Gillian turned towards Ryan and saw him staring at her. The two leaned in slowly and awkardly towards one another. Their lips eventually met in a soft gentle kiss. At first both were a bit uncomfortable but Ryan began to remember what it was like to hold Gillian and have her in his arms. Gillian felt her body relax when Ryan pulled her closer as the keep deepened. Nothing felt more right for either one of them and for the moment they were the only two people in the world.
