Tale #7I had forgotten many things about the early days of TV...the live broadcasts....kinescope and such. I attended Don Martin's School of Radio and TV Broadcasting in 1958 and '59 in downtown Hollywood finishing the radio part (getting my 1st) and dropped out of the Television portion due to heath reason (LA smog) and went on to spend 15 years in radio. Recently I visited a PBS TV station here in Northern California and was able to tour their facilities. Although I'm very much aware of the advances in TV technology...my vision of how and what a tv studio functioned and looked like were still of my early days at Don Martins. Wow ... what we would have given for studio equipment like that! Needless to say I was amazed. Thanks for putting together your website and it's associated links...it was fun and I'll be back. P.S. Even the equipment most radio stations now have would make a combo man from the 50's and 60's green with envy. Again thanks for the memory. Don Schreier |
