Coach Petrowski is the brother of Vice Principle Petrowski and according to Tucker, got the job that he had at the school only due to that very reason (Episode 2 reference). He reminds me a lot of the guy from The Wonder Years (Coach Cutlip I think, and I now stand corrected). He got a lot more action in the first 4 epidsodes than in the rest, but he got to have a fun part in Apeward Bound. According to Don Dickinson, the actor who played him, he said the plate of ribs served were HOT! So hot that when they called take on the shot, he yelped in pain. Maybe he doesn't have the stature of his brother (or the hair for that matter), but he is definitely vital to that all too familiar Junior High concept of "Phys Ed."
