Trawler aground
11 August 1988, Trawler Aground, Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat was alerted last week when, for the second time in seven days, a passing trawler ran aground on the Blackwater Bank. The "Magnificent," which was on passage up the east coast, radioed a number of local trawlers fishing in the area when she went ashore. A message was passed to the Lifeboat Station but just as the crew were assembling, the trawler refloated herself and continued on her voyage. The previous week, Rosslare Lifeboat towed the Trawler, "Fairweather," off Blackwater Bank when she went ashore while on passage to Dublin.
