The port is amongst the busiest in Ireland with almost 1.5 million passengers and 330,000 passengers cars. Not far from Rosslare Harbour is a beautiful Golf Course at St. Helen`s Bay overlooking the South Coast and Tuskar rock Light house. On now and another place to see is Johnstown Castle, a 19th century gothic mansion,with colourful walks and ornamental lakes.

On route from The Port of Rosslare taking the Rosslare-Wexford Road the N25, at the village of Tagoat you turn off and follow the signs posts for Our Lady`s Island, Our Lady`s Island is a place of pilgrimage and prayer. On the island are ruins of a Norman Castle which leans at a great angle.
Carne beach is not far from our Lady`s Island, this fine beach should not be missed, from there you can call into the Lobster Pot, renowned for its fine food, from here you can go to Carnsore Point, worth a visit for its wounderful seascapes. On route again, and onto Kilmore Quay, fishing is a source of income for Kilmore. The town is most picturesque, with lots of Thatched Cottages on the Main Road, also fresh fish is sold at the Harbour, at the Quay there is a maritime museum lightship call the "Guillemot", the village is also the point of departure for the Saltee Islands, its Ireland`s largest bird sanctuary.
When leaving Kilmore Quay take the R736 to Wellington Bridge, near by is Bannow Drive with breathtalking views across Bannow Bay, this estuary is rich in Wildlife with colonies of
Curlew,Redshank,Brent Geese, and Oystercatcher. On to Arthurstown and Ballyhack, here you can take a short ferry journey over to Passage East, to the next County "Waterford". Waterford is famed for its crystal, you can visit the Factory itself, Ring +353-51-733111 to make sure of opening times. Now back to New Ross Co. Wexford, pay a visit to the JFK Trust Dunbrody Ship, the Dunbrody is a reconstruction of a genuine, full scale, seagoing Famine Ship. The three masted Barque Dunbrody will be the largest and most spectacular ship ever built in Ireland. During the construction period, visitors can view progress on the ship during its various stages of development. In March 1999, the Dunbrody will embark on a celebratory maiden voyage from New Ross, Co.Wexford to Boston Massachusetts, USA.
