Mumm-Ra and Mutant Bios

Mumm-Ra

Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living

Mumm-Ra was once a mighty ruler of ancient Egypt. Unfurtanately, when death called on him, so did evil. Unable to accept death, he turned to evil spirits to restore him. The price was his immortal soul which would then become twisted and dark. His once great pyramid, became dark and isolated, and full of evil rage ("Mumm-Ra Lives!"). By calling on the Ancient Spirit's magic, he could transform into Mumm-Ra The Ever Living (First seen in "Unholy Allies").
The evil remained silent for years as Mumm-Ra's power swelled in him. He first demenstrated his power when he met Wizz-Ra in titanic battle. He sought the Golden Helmet of Par-Nuer. Although he failed, Wizz-Ra and the helmet were swept into the Seventh Dimension ("Dimension Doom"). When Third Earth began a tradition of peace, he quickly made it a place for evil and doom to delight in. During this period, Mumm-Ra was focused only on the northern hemisphere of Third Earth. The southern regions were under the torturous rule of another evil being, Zaxx. Mumm-Ra engaged Zaxx in battle and imprisoned him in a talisman, leaving him free to rule ALL Third Earth. Mumm-Ra kept the fate fo Zaxx a guarded secret for centuries ("The Zaxx Factor"). When his mission to doom Third Earth was thought complete, he was returned to his Pyramid to rest until needed. The Ancient Spirits of Evil awakened him briefly to stop the Lunatacs from taking Third Earth for themselves. He incased them in molten rock ("Mumm-Ra Lives!"). Soon after, he was dealt a painful blow by the Ancient Spirits of Goodness as they fought to restore Third Earth. They sent a sorcerer named Brodo to stop, he failed and was sent into the Astral World ("The Astral Prison"). The spirits then battled him themselves, draining his power to almost none. He returned to his casket to restore his energy, while Third Earth slowly became a safe place again ("The Terror of Hammerhand"). The Spirits of Goodness created a warrior of their own to countermand him. Mumm-Rana, the mighty queen of ancient Egypt, was brought to and also began to store up her power for the day Mumm-Ra may return. She did not awaken until she saved the Mutants of Plundarr from certain death ("Mumm-Rana"). Mumm-Ra was again awakened when the ThunderCats of Thundera crashed on Third Earth ("Exodus"). When he became Mumm-Ra, he also obtained knowledge as well as power. He learned of the great powers of the universe such as The Eye of Thundera which was in the protection of the Thundercats. He made allies of the Mutants so they could help him obtain the Sword of Omens which held the eye ("Unholy Allies"). The Thundercats learned early on his weakness. That being his horrid reflection is the one thing that scares and defeats him. The Mutants and he both failed time after time to secure the Sword of Omens. When Wizz-Ra returned briefly from the Seventh Dimension he temporarily gained the Golden Helmet of Par-Nuer and placed the Thundercats under it's spell ("Dimension Doom"). By taking on different forms, he has tricked the Thundercats countless times ("All That Glitters","Catfight","Return to Thundera","Fond Memories","The Evil Harp of Char-Nin","Runaways","Return of the Thundercubs","Excalibur","Queen of Eight Legs","The Bracelet of Power","The Astral Prison",etc.). When Mumm-ra sought out the greatest power of all, The Star of Thundera, it was believed to have vanquished him for eternity ("Thundercats Ho!","Mumm-Ra Lives!").
He was later found to have survived, and his loyal dog Mu-Mutt returned him to his Pyramid to once again restore his power. He then freed the Lunatacs, but they were found to be insufficient in destroying the Thundercats. He called on the mystic evil power of The Ancient Spirits of Evil to give him the strength he needed. They did so and he restored with even more power than before. He also no longer was afraid of his reflection ("Mumm-Ra Lives!"). In an effort to seek out the Sword of Plundarr that destroyed the Thundercats home, Thundera, he used mysterious magic and reformed the planet. He did so to make it easy to obtain not only the sword, but the great treasure of Thundera, lost for many years. Unfurtanatly, he managed to get the Sword of Plundarr and use it in his attempt to get The Treasure of Thundera. In his attempt, the treasure was scattered across what is now called "New Thundera". To regain it, the Ancient Spirits of Evil granted him more power than ever before, he became Mumm-Ra, The Ever Living and All Powerfull ("Thundercubs","Return of the Thundercubs","The Last Day").
After gaining his new powers, however, he was still unable to defeat Lion-O, the Lord of the Thundercats and his Thunderian Pyramid he had constructed on New Thundera was demolished. He later reconstructed the inside of it in an underground grotto to hide from the Thundercats prying eyes ("Return of the Thundercubs"). With his new powers, the Ancient spirits of Evil expected the Thundercats doom. They did not receive it. Not only did he not regain the Treasure of Thundera, but he allowed the Thundercats to attain it instead and after the Lunatacs and Mutants were banished from Third Earth, The Ancient Spirits of Evil threatened to do the same to Mumm-Ra unless he defeated the Thundercats in one day. He was given ultimate power to acheive this and almost won. He defeated Cheetara, Tygra, Panthro and the Thunderkittens and destroyed the Tower of Omens as well as the Thundertank. Lion-O delayed Mumm-Ra until the end of the day and then rescued the other Thundercats from limbo. Mumm-Ra was exiled from Third Earth along with his dreadful dog, Mu-Mutt ("The Circus Train","The last Day","Return to Thundera").
