RESURRECTION PART VI / EPILOGUE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After Leviathan is "sent to another dimension" [snort] in the FanFic "Final Mission", the Rangers, and the Rangerphiles (along with a few guests) try to revive Leviathan using the infamous Dragon Balls. Chaos ensuses in the Coffeehouse and beyond in a thread called... "Resurrection"! [Note: All thread replies were put in order by the time and date posted.] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ============================================================================ "Resurrection"--Part VI Thursday, 04-May-2000 09:43:26 Summary, Part V: After J.A.M.'s vital signs quickly start to fade, Kuwani decides to use her "Limited Wish" spell to wish the Jaguar back to full health. But since the spell ages her, Kat stands by with a Potion that will restore her youth. The spell works, but it's too close a call for Strider, who now thinks that the mission to find the remaining two Dragon Balls is too dangerous for everyone. Meanwhile, Lawhiney and Shake-A Bake-A inform Widget Bernouli and Grace Gigabyte of the current situation, while Attic Rat and Wiseguy bring in a huge load of electronic junk for Gadget to search through. Will the quest continue? Will Leviathan be brought back to life? Or is the group fated to stop the quest with five of the seven Dragon Balls? And now, Part VI--and the conclusion--of..."Resurrection"! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ As the entire group of Rangerphiles and Rangers--which included all of the Rescue Rangers, Foxglove, Strider, Kat, Kuwani, Attic Rat, Wiseguy, Lawhiney Mahalo, Shake-A Bake-A, Widget Bernouli, Grace Gigabyte, The J.A.M., Pikachu, Shadow, and Chipper the JediChipmunk--sifted through the electronics and other assorted junk Wiseguy and Attic Rat had brought in, they also discussed the current situation. "So, we've still got two more Dragon Balls left, right?" Lawhiney called out over the junk pile. "Yeah--The Ball of Power, and The Ball of Darkness," Gadget shouted. "But the Dragon Radar's broken, and none of TPL's computers can track the type of energy a Dragon Ball emits," Widget said. "So basically, we're up a creek without even a boat, right?" Strider said, standing back and watching the group. "And just what are you doing?" Chip demanded. "What I *should* be doing--supervising," Strider answered, smirking. "Oh, you're not gonna be doing that much longer," a cold, shrill voice rang out. The words echoed throughout the Coffeehouse, and it sent a shiver down everyone's spine. The entire group looked at (or in the direction of) the front door, and saw... "JENNIFER?!?" Kat and Strider exclaimed simultaneously. "You got that right!" Jennifer then threw a large sack over her shoulder, and it landed with a loud *THUD* on the floor. "How...how did you get out?!" Strider questioned. "Strider, is this who I think it is?" Gadget asked the young Rangerphile. "Y-yeah, it's her," Strider shot back quickly. "Oh, I had a little help from some rats around the street," Jennifer explained. "Figures," Kat muttered under her breath. "They chewed through the rope you tied me up with, and when I was free, I got some information from your little coffee-maker over there about what you were doing," the girl continued. "Hey! Why didn't you tell us she'd been in here?!" Strider screamed. "Simple--you never asked," replied the talking contraption. Upon hearing his answer, everyone--including Jennifer--facefaulted. "So I took the liberty of finishing the job for you--with some help, of course," Jennifer said, grinning evilly. "I got some of the more braver adventurers around this planet to get the Dragon Balls, in return for...certain services." She grinned even more evilly as the Rangerphiles made faces to show their disgust. "Oh, you truly *are* evil...not to mention sick and morally bankrupt," Chip retorted. "Remind ya of anyone, Chipper?" Monty whispered, nodding towards Lawhiney. ("Hey!" the islander shouted back.) "So, I've got a proposition for you." Jennifer took the Dragon Balls out of the sack to show that she had them, then continued to speak. "I'll let you have the final two Dragon Balls--if you let me use the wish to kill Strider!" "WHAT?!?!?" the entire group shouted. "Are you totally mental? We're not gonna let you do that!" Dale exclaimed. "Either you do it, or I'll dump these in the most obscure and hard to reach places on this planet, it'll take you 50 years to find them!" Jennifer threatened. "And none of you have that kind of time!" "Hey guys, come here..." Strider called to the group. Hastily, they assembled around Strider as he whispered something, and then after a few seconds, they broke up the circle. "Okay, Jennifer, if it'll make you happy. You get your wish!" *5 minutes later...* The Dragon Balls replaced the pile of junk in the middle of the main room of the Coffeehouse. Now all that remained was to call the Dragon. "Oh, Great Eternal Dragon, I implore you--arise and grant my wish!" Jennifer called out. The Balls glowed an eerie yellow, and within a minute, the Dragon had fully emerged. "I am the Eternal Dragon. As a reward for gathering the seven Dragon Balls and summoning me, I will grant you one wish." Jennifer grinned as she looked at Strider, for what she believed would be the last time. "I want you to kill Strider once and for all!" she shouted. Jennifer closed her eyes and waited for the Dragon to confirm that the wish had been granted... "No." The brunette's eyes shot wide open. "I cannot grant your wish; I cannot be used to bring harm to another living being, which is what your wish asked of me." "But--but..." "That's about enough from you, lass!" Monterey Jack snuck up from behind and grabbed Jennifer's arms, restraining her where she stood. Gadget, Kat, Kuwani, and Foxglove approached her. "You..." Foxglove slapped her. "You tried to kill Strider." Kuwani slapped her. "You used your Magical Female Powers [tm] for evil." Kat slapped her. "Words don't even begin to describe you. I hope someone hurts you the way you hurt Strider." And Gadget slapped her harder than the previous three, tears forming in her eyes. Her paw print was left behind on Jennifer's face. "Monty, get her out of here." "Well, lass, you heard 'em," Monty chuckled as he moved the girl towards the door. "And do us all a huge favor--" "STAY AWAY FROM US!!" the Rangerphiles shouted in unison. Monty threw Jennifer a short distance out of the Coffeehouse, then shut the door, locked it, and continued to stand guard. (Behind the door, Jennifer could be heard shouting, "You haven't heard the last of me! I swear it!") "Well, guys, we not only got rid of Jennifer, but now we've got a free wish!" Strider exclaimed. "And what do you think it should be?" Kuwani asked jokingly. "Okay, guys, on three..." "One..." Dale said. "Pika..." ("Two...") Pikachu squeaked. "Five!" Shake-A Bake-A finished. "Three, honey," Lawhiney corrected. "Oh, yeah. Thanks, dudette...three!" Shake-A Bake-A said. And as one, the entire Rangerphile community, the Rangers, and everyone gathered at the Coffeehouse shouted: "WE WISH FOR LEVIATHAN TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE AT THE RANGER COFFEEHOUSE!" ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Okay, guys, now it's your turn--you can write the "conclusion" (any story bits you want to add and any loose ends that need to be tied up), but I'll be back to end the thread once and for all! And boy, was *THAT* theraputic for my troubled soul... ^_-; "Quote the Strider, forevermore." Triple-S ============================================================================ The end? Tuesday, 09-May-2000 23:00:54 [...unWARP!!!] Good evening. ************ A blinding flash of light lit up the entire Coffeehouse, making everyone and everyfur cover their faces. After the flash faded away, everyone looked up. [The Eternal Dragon] disappeared from sight, and the seven Dragon Balls rose in the air. There, they turned to stone, and shot off in seven separate directions. Looking down, everyone saw- "Hello," said Leviathan, rather timidly. As everyone rushed to hug him for having resurrected, The J.A.M. pulled aside Strider and Kuwani. "What?" they asked. "Well, it seems that we were beaten to the last two Dragon Balls. But even so, my offer still remains. If you two need a favor of ANY kind, if I can do it, I'll do it. Whether it's warping around the planet again, or even eating an enemy (if he/she/it's not bigger than me), then you can count on me." "Eating an enemy?" asked Kuwani. "Have you been reading 'Kevin And Kel'?" "Yes, why?" "Um, never mind." The three then went to meet Leviathan again, with the Jaguar's offer still in effect, perhaps to be called up in this particular time, or at a later time. But now, it was time to relax, and to welcome back their long lost friend, and to enjoy the company of friends, who would gladly risk their lives for each other. The story of how they brought him back would go on thorugh the night, with each team member giving his/her viewpoint of the facts, allowing Shadow to slowly come to terms to what they ALL had gone through to bring them back. Leviathan would then realise what incredible friends he had, and he, too, would cherish them for a long time to come. . . . . THE END ************ Until next time, remember: I AM THE J.A.M. Good evening. [WARP!!!] ============================================================================ Re: The end? Wednesday, 10-May-2000 01:24:05 Attic Rat and Wiseguy sat sipping a thick, sweet result of the espresso-machine's robotic genius. Licking a bit of whipped cream from his whiskers, Attic Rat sighed, "It was fun while it lasted, wasn't it?" "Well, yeah.. If you don't count my almost killing you, or us almost being crushed under a rolling dragon ball, or us walking our feet sore, or the rancid grease explosion, or..." "I'm glad you agree with me, Wiseguy." "Yep." "Let's do this again sometime." "Why not, DBZ does it on a daily basis." "Just for that, you're buying the next round." Karl ============================================================================ "Resurrection"--Epilogue Monday, 15-May-2000 10:15:17 *A few hours after Leviathan's resurrection...* Leviathan sat with Kat, Kuwani, and Strider at one of the many tables in the Coffeehouse as everyone was talking to everyone else about what was to be known as "The Great Dragon Ball Quest" for the rest of time. Everyone had a different viewpoint of the adventure, and were expressing those views at this time: "...then that sweet little Mole used the wish to get a candy bar..." "...I was dragged against my will to this volcano..." "...PIKA pi-pika ka pi pika-pi..." "...some insane psycho wanted to kill Strider..." "Geez, everyone's got an version," Leviathan cracked. "So just how many of you looked for the Dragon Balls, anyway?" "Let's see," Strider started. "There were the Rangers, myself, Kat, Kuwani..." "...AtticRat, Wiseguy, Shadow, Foxglove, Lawhiney & Shake-a Bake-a (as hard as it is to believe), Chipper, Pikachu, and El J.A.M. Grace and Widget showed up after J.A.M. got back to normal." Kat finished. "Can we count Jennifer?" Kuwani quipped. "Who?" Leviathan pondered. Strider leaned over to the "Dark Savior" and gave him a quick summary of the situation with Jennifer--from the past to the present. "Hmm...I'd say that's a definite 'no'." "Leviathan, just out of curiosity, how old are you? I mean, right now, since you've been resurrected?" Kuwani asked. "Well, since we're all eternally young here..." Leviathan chuckled a little bit. "...I'd say I've been resurrected at age 21. My best year." "So how does it feel to be back?" Grace asked, sitting down between Kat and Strider. "Well, I would have liked to be resurrected *outside* the Coffeehouse, but I suppose living here will do," Leviathan remarked. "Besides, I get to see everyone as they come and go, and I'll get to join in on any other adventures that take place here." "Well, I think it's nice that you'll always be here," Widget (Bernouli, for those that forgot ;) said as she sat down beside Leviathan, smiling. "We can always come to see you, and talk about what's going on, or...whatever..." Leviathan raised an eyebrow; Widget started to blush. "I...uh, forget I said anything, Leviathan..." "Widget...you have a crush on Leviathan, do you?" Grace asked, grinning. Widget started blushing even more. "Well, I...er, I mean..." Widget tried to cover her tracks, but it was too late. Now the whole Coffeehouse knew, and there was no turning back. "Yes, I do. I think he's caring and sweet--not to mention handsome." Widget turned to the grey mouse, still red with embarassment. "Leviathan, would you...er, I, uh...would you like to have dinner with me sometime?" "I...I..." Now it was Leviathan's turn to blush. Like Widget, he hadn't had much experience in this part of life; the fact that the whole Coffeehouse was watching the scene over his shoulder wasn't helping a whole lot either. Strider and Kat looked at each other, nodded, and whispered in Leviathan's ear. He looked at both of them wide-eyed, then he smiled--his way of saying "thanks for the advice"--and looked back at Widget. "Widget Bernouli, I gladly accept your offer. I would be honored to go to dinner with you." The Coffeehouse erupted in cheers as Leviathan took Widget's hand and kissed it. "Well, it's good t' know that everything's back t' normal," Monty quipped from across the room to Zipper, who was sitting on his shoulder. "Let's just hope that the lads don't get any ideas." "Too late!" Zipper exclaimed as he spotted Chip and Dale approaching Gadget. The duo both had flowers for the female inventor, and both reached her at the exact same time. "Gadget, would you..." both of the chipmunks started to say, but she interrupted them by taking the flowers, quickly saying "Thanks" to the two, and turning to Leviathan and Widget. "Here, Leviathan--give these to her." Gadget offered the flowers to Leviathan, and he did as Gadget said. Widget smiled, obviously flattered by his offering. "But--but..." The chipmunks stared on in disbelief. "Hey boys, remember my number one rule of life: It is better to have loved and been ignored, than never to have loved at all," Strider said. "And besides, I don't think now's the right time. Let's just let Leviathan celebrate for now." The chipmunks nodded, then the trio mixed with the group of Rangerphiles and began to talk with everyone, knowing now that finally, after months of work and near-death experiences...it was over. *THE END* ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Hey, I needed some sort of a plot twist for the finale--it's the way I write. So I figured, "Hey, what better twist than that?" ;) So now, the "Resurrection" thread is officially finished. This is the final post of the thread; any replies will not be added to the text file which will be posted on my site, unless I think it should be. ;) At this time, I would personally like to extend my thanks to all of the authors who participated in writing this thread. You all did a great job, and should be very proud of yourselves. And this also leaves the door open for yet another Coffeehouse thread... ^_- "Quote the Strider, forevermore."
