Hi, everyone. I have a fun poem I’d like to share with you. It’s something I wrote in the song parodying/poetry writing/fanfic loving tradition of this board, with suggestions from Indy and Waythorn. This work of fiction is based (loosely) on the song "Ponderous" by Two Nu. It’s dedicated to all writers of RR fanfic, who keep the Rangers alive in our hearts and our dreams... I had this dream the other night, in which I Dream of Fat Cat. I was alone in the house that I work in - the house I’m a Caretaker at. Then there was a knock at the door; A Visit from Gadget I got. My Visitor didn’t recognize me so I cried, "Gadget Forget me Not!" Next came Lawhinee and Gidget (they all look like Sisters to me). There were plenty of people to watch the house. On Extended Vacation I’ll be. It was on my way out I ran into our foe, who towered so over my head. "It’s just like Gadget and Goliath," I posed, and he said that I must be well read. He said I looked awfully familiar, though his vision was somewhat a’blur, so I just ran away while Fat Cat and his gang chased me in Chariots of Fur. Now this was A Matter of Life and Death - maybe my Final Curtain! I was staring Into the Eye of Oblivion, and that’s when the horns first kicked in. I’m not really sure how I got there, but from what’s next The Memory Remains. Like A Force Reborn I walked out of the station and past the rail-yards and trains. The next Turningpoint was a sign that said, "You’re at the Crossroads of Time," but because I had read it backwards, I could make out no Reason or Rhyme. ;) Then I came to the Realization (and this is the part that I love) I’d been here before in my previous dreams with Somemouse to Watch Over Me above. She descended on wings like an angel - the lady who saw with her ears - and listened as I spoke Memories of all the night’s most recent fears. I was soon brought out of my Soul Searching by the Swarm of folks hanging around, but I knew that they didn’t belong here ‘cause Home is where You Hang Upside-Down. That’s when the horns again kicked in, and I found myself boarding a bus. When I asked my friend where we were going she said, "Monty Jack’s Flying Circus." There’s Nothing Sweet about Sorrow, but the joy here’s a thing to behold. I’d even say on Reflection, it’s precious as Rainbow’s Gold. "So come Catch a Rainbow!" called the carnie - with his red nose she found him handsome. When I asked him how much it would cost me, he said just A Twit’s Ransom. "Inside there are rides, games, and prizes, and you’ll want to try out every one. The place is A Syllabus of Comedies, with Sizable Chances for fun!" A few Little Problems of digestion On the 14th ride I took with Midge convinced me to just take A Walk in the Park and watch the people stroll Under the Bridge. Zipper had dressed like Icarus, Monty a Fantasy General, The Miami ‘Munks stared with Fires in Hearts at the Sailor Mouse ringing the signal bell. "What is this?" I asked the young mariner through the other’s half covered-up snickers. "It’s like being in a big Crossover... Invasion of the Body Switchers?" The chipmunks both vied for her Friendship and made Plots to win her hand. Then they both started arguing so fast I could not understand. "JustWhattheHeckareyoudoing!? Youhaven’tAFightingChance, see? Remember:HeWhoLaughsLastlaughshardest, andGadgetreallylikesme!" Now was the weird part of my dream, announced by the horns’ latest song. The part of the dream where I tap-danced while the others sang Kat’s Sing-A-Long. Because this was making us hungry, we ran to the kitchen much faster, but once there we had such a Food Fight that our work was a Culinary Disaster. Then someone stole all the Wolfsbane. It was One Strange Case, that much I’ll yield, but A Simple Investigation soon had The Truth Revealed. What I saw when I woke up that morning was the fanfic pile almost my height - but if reading fanfic gives me dreams like this I’ll do it again tonight! If you’re not familiar with the song this is based on, but would like to know the lyrics, you can find them on the web at places like this. http://music.favorites.com/lyrics/t/two.nu/ponderous Shao
