With a time for construction of almost a decade, it is also the most complex ever put together. It has become the hallmark of the Federation, with the 2nd ship of the line named Enterprise - in honor of that valient ship and her crew whose exploits have spanned the generations.
This ship can, at a moment's notice, seperate into two seperate vehicles, the main saucer being the 'life boat' with the ability to crash-land on a planetary surface with little damage to the occupants, and the Star Drive section, with the majority of the weapons and the warp drives able to better fight a hostile while giving valuable time for the saucer to escape or otherwise evade detection and/or capture.
