1982:
Bo was shocked when, on her deathbed, his mother, Olympia, revealed that he was not Asa's son, but Yancy Ralston's. Embittered by the revelation, Bo turned his back on the Buchanan family and changed his name to Ralston. Delila Ralston read about Bo in the newspaper and came to town. They were attracted to one another but because they were cousins, Bo and Delila remain apart and heartbroken. She then married Asa. On the rebound, Bo slept with singer Becky Lee Abbott, who became pregnant.
1983:
Bo learned that he was a Buchanan after all, but he chose not to tell Asa's widow, Delila, since he didn't want to shatter her image of her "late" husband. When Asa returned from the dead, Bo informed Delila that they could finally be together. Delila left Asa and married Bo, who didn't know that Becky was pregnant with his child. Fearing that she could lose Bo again, Delila faked a pregnancy. When Becky's new fiance, Drew Ralston, was gunned down in a robbery, she married Asa, then gave birth to Bo's son. When Becky nearly died, she told Bo the truth: he was her baby's father. Bo discovered that Delila knew about Becky's pregnancy in advance, and he ended their marriage.
1984:
After divorcing Delila, Bo started a new life as "Bill Brady." He moved in with the working class O'Neill family.
1989:
Bo Buchanan becomes producer of WVLE's locally produced soap opera, FRATERNITY ROW.
1990:
When Sarah Gordon journeyed to faraway Mendora, she assumed she was simply there on a mission to help that country's crown prince, Raymond, deal with his blindness. Sarah had no idea that she would become embroiled in a plot by the prince's brother, Roland, to seize the throne for himself. Against her will, Sarah, a commoner, was forced to marry Raymond, who would then be required to abdicate his throne. Sarah unwillingly went through with the wedding, but she was stunned upon seeing that the groom was actually her true love, Bo Buchanan, who donned a fake beard and took Prince Raymond's place at the altar!
1991:
Cassie Callison, Dorian Lord's daughter, returned to Llanview and fell in love with Bo, but the romance was continually thwarted by a demented former government agent, Alex Olanov, who had fallen in love with Bo, too. Their rivalry reached new heights when Alex took Cassie out in a rowboat and tried to throw her overboard and drown her! Cassie married Bo, but moments after the wedding, Bo's not-so-late wife, Sarah, showed up at the reception. Sarah's surprising return was orchestrated by none other than Alex!
1993:
For seven agonizing months, Bo Buchanan searched for the mysterious hit-and-run driver who ran his car off the road, killing his beloved wife, Sarah. Bo's new lover, Attorney Nora Gannon, helped him gather the clues, but began to have excruciating headaches, which led her to fear that she had driven the car that killed Bo's wife and blocked it out. Nora confided her secret to Bo who was convinced that she was not the culprit. Ultimately, a relieved Nora learned that she did not commit the crime, but witnessed it. Later, Nora discovered that she had a brain tumor, and the risky operation required to remove it might cause her to go blind. Without telling Bo, Nora went through with the surgery, then lost and later regained her sight.
