An undercover narc. He got in tight with Keane, Adebisi, & Wangler. When he was discovered by Schibetta to be the rat, he was hanged in the gym to make it look like a suicide. Glynn told McManus at first that he was Markstram's cousin so that Tim would admit him to Em City. Tim was angry that Glynn lied to him.
To keep the pressure off Schibetta, Van Harris copped to killing Paul Markstram.

The other Muslims shunned him when Said was released from the prison hospital. He was removed to gen pop & tried to warn McManus & Glynn of the upcoming riot, but they didn't believe him. He ended up committing suicide in his cell by slitting his throat.

He killed Officer Lawrence Smith (who was posthumously awarded the Fleischman Medal of Honor for service to the state). Groves decided to kill Warden Glynn after listening to Said, but Smith got in the way.
While in his death row cell, he was beaten by the guards & smashed his head repeatedly against the wall while they watched.
The day before his execution, he tried to overdose on pills. Dr. Nathan saved him, and his execution was only delayed by a few hours.
Loretta Smith, Larry's mom, visited Groves in his cell. She forgave him. He wanted his final words to be written down by Father Ray & given to Mrs. Smith, but the intercom went haywire while he was making his statement.

He stabbed a fellow musician while at an audition with the bow from his cello.
A dedicated musician, McManus gave him permission to practice in the cafeteria one hour every day.
Hill liked his playing so much that he arranged for another prisoner to jam with him on trumpet.
He stored his cello in Father Ray's office. After noticing that Hill was spending more time with Dobbins than with him, Vayhue broke into the office & smashed the cello to bits. He was so upset about it that he spends all his days in front of the t.v. set.
Dobbins was shanked in the abdomen several times at the beginning of the riot.

He was beaten up by Wangler for his box of goodies. While in the prison hospital, he tried to escape, but failed. Since his return, he doesn't leave his pod & hasn't reported to work at the prison factory in 3 days.
