OLTL was the first soap opera to reel me in with Karen Wolek and Marco Dane. Karen was married to respectable Dr. Larry Wolek and thought she was on her way to living a life of respectability. Marco Dane, her worst nightmare comes to town, and all hell broke loose from there.

I became even more intrigued with Carla and Ed Hall, and Carla's mother Sadie Gray. Although, I missed the "Trying to Pass" storyline with Carla I was impressed with how this African American family was being portrayed and I wanted to see more of them; unfortunately, they were eventually written out. Now, almost 20 years later OLTL has the Gannon Brothers, and I would like to see more storylines for this family, too.

I have been watching One Life to Live since 1978. No one person has caught my attention since Marco Dane was the town villain, until RJ Gannon came to Llanview, Pa.

I stopped watching when a few of my favorites were leaving and I wasn't up to getting to know new characters. Karen Wolek, Sadie Gray, Carla and Ed Hall were long gone; Megan died; Jake left; Cord left; Andrea Evans as Tina left. Gabrielle was also gone. I think Vicki had turned into Nicki (yawn)....again. OLTL just didn't have anything to keep me interested. I wasn't into the Max character; I was tired of another Vicki/Nicki storyline.

Then one day, I think about five or six years ago, I was home for lunch and my daughter had OLTL on. I saw Hank and wondered who is this fine man on OLTL? You mean they are finally going to start casting some African Americans again? I was even more intrigued because Hank had an interracial daughter. I have two children that are interracial, African American and Native American. I told myself that I don't want to get hooked again, but I did. Now here I am creating this page for the fabulous "Gannon Brothers".

When Jimmy Glover (aka: Randall James Gannon) first approached Blair and Max I was not immediately taken with him. As I watched him in action with these two, I was warming up to him, because he was making this gambling storyline interesting.

I wasn't pleased, however, when I realized he would be coming to Llanview to make life miserable for big brother, Hank Gannon. Hank Gannon and his interracial daughter were the reasons I had returned to this show after a two year hiatus.
